He’s the guy who wants to take Luffy’s freedom away. Which is the crux of why you think the WG will be the antagonistsZ
Imu doesn’t care about Luffy. He looked at Luffy’s wanted poster and tossed it aside. Imu wants to kill Shirahoshi. He is concerned with the preservation of the Government and really doesn’t care anything about Pirates.

Akainu wants to personally murder Luffy, that’s how much he hates him lol.

Imu is holding Vivi hostage probably. Luffy’s poster was singled out over any Yonko or high profile pirate. Imu clearly is concerned about the will of D. To Akainu, the D doesn’t matter

Luffy being pirate king will be seen as threat to marines unless the ending will be more balance.

The ending will be more balanced than we think unless Dragon wants reform in government replace Goroseis with reverie panel . The system still continues and marines will have to go after pirates.

Imu views Shirahoshi as a bigger threat than Luffy or Teach. He doesn’t care much for Pirates in particular, he is concerned with who he believes is the biggest threat to the Government, and in his mind, that is not Luffy. He is being set up as Dragon’s enemy.

Akainu personally referred to Luffy as Dragon’s son lmfao. He definitely cares about bloodlines, to a huge extent.

Anyway, I will repost why many believe Dragon or Sabo will fight Akainu, which is the main reason why you created this thread.

Its about powerscaling. No matter how less Oda cares about powerscaling, it will be tough to sell Akainu as EoS opponent of Luffy from powerscaling pov. Kaido is stronger than Akainu. Most of the readers believe prime Teach will even be stronger than Kaido. How could Akainu be an opponent of someone who could beat prime Teach? That's where Dragon or Sabo comes into picture.

Another important point is Akainu is not a pirate. So technically Luffy has no reason to fight Akainu. If you remember what Nico Robin said,
"Pirates... don't usually attack the government or Marines. But there is currently a force that is attempting to directly overthrow the World Government."
At Marineford, Akainu was just doing his job. It was nothing personal and Akainu had nothing to gain from the defeat of Whitebeard. There is a reason why Weevil wants to kill Blackbeard to avenge his "father", not Akainu. Again, Dragon or Sabo, as revolutionaries, are more fitting opponents for Akainu.

One piece is a pirate manga. Its a story where Luffy fights yonkos. The pirates themselves will decide their fate. You were talking about inheriting Ace's will. Ace never wanted to kill Akainu, his target was Blackbeard. Thats what Luffy will accomplish that Ace couldnt do, he will finish the monster named Blackbeard.

Lmfao how tf am i making that up.
So you havent? Then show me a quote from Oda, "One Piece is/was a story of Luffy overthrowing the 800 year old power the wg"

Shirahoshi is an ancient weapon, so he’s right to care about that. But D’s were singled out. D’s are the main opponents of the teneyuubito, and Imu is their leader.

Akainu cares about Luffy’s father but not about the D, which is getting more and more important.

Let it be known that the argument in favor of Akainu is about how he has been specifically written to be Luffy’s ideological foil,

And the argument against Akainu is about power scaling from people who don’t know how to power scale lol.
