So it is a promotional hype chapter and not a hype reveal chapter
it's more MC focused for the vanilla fans which's fine it's 1000 but I wished something involving a big reveal (D. / Xebec / Rocks / One Piece etc )
I just wish now with BM's reaction that Luffy really got a big hit and made Kaido bleed and that's why BM is surprised , that would be really really hype as an Ace hommage but also to show that Luffy's training with Ryu paid off and he can injure "THE UNBEATABLE" Kaido unlike the scabbards
Remember 900 was the cutie cutter promotional special chapter of musical and the sanji/bm/cake pay off then 2 chapters later we get the Luffy 5th Emperor and bounty reveals
And as it stands rn , 999 and 1001/1002 might be more hype than 1000 itself for the hardcore community like us

This chapter is pretty good hype for Kidd also.
He's not only worthy of being on the Roof himself, but also worthy of having a subordinate up there the way Luffy does.
I'm feeling more confident in Oda giving Kidd some big hype that actually rivals Luffy for a big chunk of the fight.
The two might be the last men standing and do some combo where Luffy lands the very last hit to put down Kaido
