Yeah sadly, the chapter himself hyped me up but instance of this beeing chapter 1000, the whole stuff could already happen in chapter 995. With shows that Oda just waste to much time on irrelevant things, the whole running and other stuffs could easily cover in 1-2chapters. Law is the perfect example in the current chapter, he just teleport himself in one chapter, something with Luffy and co need for the last 10chapters xD.
For me it feels like we just waste all the last chapters for nothing, Law could done the job far early.
We could be here now 5chapters early with a Luffy+Supernova vs Kaido&Big mom encounter, chapter 1000 could be indeed then something special, now it kinda feel underwhelming.

Tbf most of those complaining would have likely been way more hyped about the chapter if their favorite character was part of the Roof Lineup for the cool spreads this chapter.
Not that it's not valid to want more from the chapter than something that we all expected to happen at some point, but that definitely plays a role for how much you're going to enjoy this.
Like if Sanji was up there in a cool pose, puffing at his cigarette and giving a one liner on how he's going to hunt the Yonko or something

Not that it's not valid to want more from the chapter than something that we all expected to happen at some point, but that definitely plays a role for how much you're going to enjoy this.

Disagree man. I don't want to discredit Kaido's feat, but the Sulong Dukes were so goddamn underwhelming it's crazy. I mean dude imagine, both are YC1 and with 7 other decent fighters they couldn't even scratch Base Kaido's body.
No matter how you see it that's mad trash considering how Luffy does it in a single punch. Dunno man, they were extremely disappointing to me and i expected them to job.

Oda has wanted to sped up the confrontations and conflicts with the Yonkos too early and quickly after the timeskip. It cannot happen without some serious drawbacks, story and logic holes and an extra layer of plot protection at the expense of the story and of the quality of a portion of the fights.
Hence the many problems with Whole Cake Island and Wano arcs.
