The seriousness of the situation, the Straw Hats being confronted to problems that they couldn't solve by force, them having to hide from the populace, the mysterious and thrilling sensation given by the story, the real internal tensions and conflicts inside the Straw Hats, the CP9 reveal and them being so strong and threatening at the time, these are the reasons why I particulary loved Water Seven and why I prefer it to other arcs including EL.

Zoro's only significant wins are Pica and Killer.
Hyouzou,Monet,Pica,Killer,Apoo + bodied Hawkins and pushed back Fujitora with a no-name slash.

Pica was arguably the 3 or 4th strongest member of the Doflamingo pirates
Pica was the 2nd strongest. Vergo ain't beating that giant Golem, neither is fking Trebol.

below Vergo and on par or slightly weaker than Trebol but with a better stalling potential, and to beat Pica he needed a mobility assist to reach him, and he benefited from Luffy probing his DF abilities.
Lmao why does that matter? That's like saying Luffy needed assistance from Nami to beat ENEL because he couldn't have reached him otherwise.
Pica was running from Zoro. Zoro would've oneshotted him without assistance had Pica not been a coward.

Killer was mentally destroyed from his SMILE and his captain's defeat/capture, and was fighting for the man who gave him the SMILE to begin with, not best mental state for a fight to begin with. Secondly he was not using his custom spinning weapons. Thirdly he was disarmed by one weapon (which can't happen with his custom spinning weapons) into a 3 weapon vs 1 weapon situation. Fourthly Killer still caused a double KO against Zoro.
It's funny how you leave out the part where Zoro was fighting Gyukimaru when Killer attacked him.
It was never 1V1.
Zoro was only injured because he got distracted.
Zoro oneshots Killer 1V1 without taking any injuries.

Is there any story where folks from hero team keep dying one by one as story progresses? What's with this BS talk about plot armor or not being gritty enough to enjoy it? lmao.

I always wondered why no one offed Sherock while he keeps messing with criminals. Watson also never died. Is it plot armor? How the hell harry potter survived the whole story with only few spells? Also frodo and sam miraculously surving till the end. Why team 7 never got any casualities? Some second level guy like Neji had to die. Not from the rookie 9. So much plot armor.

Lol. If it's that bad, stop reading stories.
Yes there are.

Sherlock was just as much about the dynamic between him and watson as about the cases. Having Watson die is like having Luffy die pretty much since it takes the main point away. And yes, it is plot armor, people just use the term with negative connotations all the time.
Harry Potter was nonsense and people pointed it out, same for Lord of the Rings, it just had other things to make up for it, including pretty much the most complete fictional world probably ever created.
Naruto was shit.

I think you cant do a war like this without losing anyone important
Oda isn't particulary fond of killing characters off, not even during a war. It's telling that during MF war Ace and Whitebeard were the only named characters whose death were sure. None of the other leaders of the Whitebeard Pirates or their allies were killed (with the possible exception of Little Oars Jr and yet it's still far from sure) while no important marine character died.
