Interesting chapter, this is just a warm up cuz none of the player used actaully hacky beside luffy (g4).

Zoro didnt use hacky vs Kaido (watch the katana before he attacks no hacky involve) after the attack no hacky involve so Zoro used an attack without hacky to a Yonko what that the purpose I dont know....

Clearly the Katana arent black, so no armament hacky involved
Dont know what Zoro wanted to achieve here vs Kaido maybe he wanted to test Kaido scale without hacky first.

Not gonna lie this chapter makes it a bit clearer that they need everyone there lol like we still gotta properly deal with Big Mom too, they’re just throwing attacks at Kaido and it’s doing like 0.2% damage lol
Exactly.
Hawkings, Sanji, Yamato and Jimbei are needed

It’s the same thing. And unoriginal like you said. The point of Oda’s 2018 quote was that he himself would be disappointed if the only way he could think to give Luffy an advantage over Kaido was by giving him a power up that involved “stronger punching”.

Fast forward 3 years, and Luffy’s entire character arc in Wano was Oda giving him a punching powerup needed to defeat Kaido. The first 3rd of this chapter was characters fangasming over the strength of Luffy’s punch.

This is [one of the reasons] why I said yesterday that I’m concerned for Oda’s mental health. He failed himself here lol, and if Oda would’ve just kept his mouth shut in interviews then I’d be fine to let him off with defeating Kaido in the most predictable way possible, but Oda is self-aware of how boring this is. He said himself that he did not want to defeat Kaido this way, and now we’re at a point where Oda has set Luffy vs Kaido up under a premise that Oda himself said would be boring.

Like I said, if Oda himself hadn’t already confirmed that he would find Luffy’s character arc in Wano boring, I’d probably not have said anything lol. But the disappointing nature of Wano speaks for itself right now.
Well, i think battle design in One Piece has been very monotonous in the first place, at least in regards to the protagonists. Luffys challenges were always "his punch has to get stronger" ( Lucci, Krieg, Pacifista) or his punch was.strong enough but the challenge was to actually hit the opponent (Buggy, Kuro, Croc, Enel, Moria, Cracker, Katakuri), so i am not surprised this arc is at best a slight variation to that.

C

critical mindset

Kaido taking killers and zoros attack head on. No defending or running :steef: Mihawks strongest slash in the world would only tickle Kaido ... Kaido would tank it better than yozu did
Jozu grabbed the slash with his bare hands. If the slash even grazed the part of him that wasnt covered in diamond, it was such a little insignificant scratch

You would be hard pressed to argue Kaido is stronger or more durable than Jozu

If Act 3 is ending, Oda may actually stay on the roof for the next few chapter. No point in showing the battles under the roof now because we all know that the only confirmed match-ups will come in act 4. So we SNs fans are in for a good treats the next few weeks :kata:
Yeah, rooftop will get most of the panel time next few chapters, but there are still characters like Drake, Hawkins, Sanji, Robin, Brook that need to be set properly so they'll get some panel time too imo

I really want better for him. His new move is awesome AF but I wish he had learned Ryou too. I don't even know if he's gonna have CoC either now. I don't want Luffy to become so ridiculously above him due to having Future Sight, Ryou (The Emission, Internal Destruction and all that), CoC etc.

I'd prefer Kid to get his DF awakening before Luffy tbh, I really want to see both but I'd love to Kid to get his first to give him a better fighting chance of keeping up with Luffy and getting stronger.

I'm just worried Oda is gonna have Kid constantly trailing behind in Luffy's shadow of superiority. The way he's written him post TS really hasn't helped, he needs some major Ws onscreen. Including an important fight solo vs a Yonko commander or equivalent at least.

Seeing what Luffy can do might spur him to really bounce back harder and try to keep up, all in time for the Shanks arc where Kid is bound to want to get revenge andt ry to kill Shanks even more than he wanted to beforehand.

That Logia comparison is very apt too btw.

There's no way 2 Emperors should get taken down this "easily" tbh but I fear Oda may try to force it to happen with how he's still clowning on BM too. But both Kaido and BM have yet to get serious and go all out, show what they're truly capable of, especially Kaido ofc.

They definitely need help from someone major as you said, it's the only believable solution imo. I expected all Supernovas or at least these 9 to face Kaido alone and still struggle to win, never mind half of that taking on 2 Emperors LMAO! Kid doesn't even have Ryou and 5 Supernova's actually believe they can take on 2 Emperors and win? MADNESS!

This seems like a setup for a big fall instead imo, the main tragedy but that's if Oda is not rushing the story and just making the Yonkos fail regardless of logic and expectations.

Even if they actually defeat Kaido somehow, isn't Onigashima just going to fall straight onto the capital and destroy it? Killing thousands of people at least even? There's no way they should even be in any state after fighting him and BM, to even attempt to stop it falling one way or another either.

I've been expecting the Marines to show up along with the WG or and Blackbeard and his crew. Shanks is also a possibility, but I think we might see the debut of Green Bull this arc finally and hopefully.

Oda tried to make us think Marco wasn't going to come to Wano and he is making us think the Marines won't either but a 2 Yonko alliance is something the Marines and WG cannot afford to ignore and not deal with IMMEDIATELY!

This would be the perfect time to test Vegapunk's new Warlord replacing weapon or even other weapons as well. Orochi wanted Vegapunk there and it's about damn time he appeared!

I would love to see Garp show up and see how he would fare against either BM or Kaido too. He's at "half his strength" apparently and around 80 years old ofc but he can still definitely put up a real fight to them.

If Shanks would show up, that would genuinely make my year too ofc!

:finally::fransuper:
I think it´s pretty unoriginal as well. Visually it´s up to taste, at least it is undeniable that the work Oda put into it is a lot considering the details and all, but in the end it´s just metal covering his whole body, Mr3 did the same thing with wax, even non-canon movie characters did it, Tesoro did it with gold, iirc Gasparde did it with his ability, Ratchet did it as well. Your non-canon characters should not really match your canon ones, and in some cases even surpass them, especially for someone as supposedly important as Kid is.

The problem is that nowadays One Piece focuses a lot more on Battles than Adventure, so One Piece battles being mediocre was less of an issue back then.

Pre Timeskip fights were "Punch hard" but at least Oda managed to give those punches an emotional weight

what this has to do with power level lmao? he may lost interest in fighting Shanks, but how does that make him lose the title? If they fight, there are 2 possibilities
1. Mihawk win so he saves his title
2. Shanks win so he take the title
the way you're talking is as if you're asserting the second option is the only possible option, that's false dichotomy mate. And because the databooks confirmed Mihawk is still the WSS in actuality, it means the first option is the likely output
Lol titles aren't absolutes, people talk about how matchups matter in this series more than just PLs, but apparently that isn't true for Mihawk, just sounds like double Standards.
