That most people on this forum believe that Dragon Kaido can beat Santoryu Zoro indicates that people completely ignore matchups and rigidly adhere to their headcanon tier lists.
Santoryu Zoro is the worst matchup for Dragon Kaido. He _completely_ counters Kaido's entire offensive arsenal and can severely damage him on top.
If matchups didn't matter, then Pre Gears Luffy wouldn't have beaten a 500M pirate.

I'm back. My short break wasn't as productive as I had hoped. Oh well.

I'll be taking tomorrow (and maybe the rest of the weekend) off WorstGen. I have some work and other obligations to deal with in real life.
My Kaido scaling:
* Awakened (think Monster point): top top tier
* Hybrid: high top tier
* Base: mid top tier
* Dragon: low/mid top tier
Zoro > Luffy? 
I really gotta admit, you are the biggest Zoro fan I've ever met. At least the most hardworking and willing to write thousands of words about him lol.

I do not see Luffy defeating Kaido in a 1 vs 1 confrontation. I don't understand how it can happen when:
* Kaido seeks to die at the hands of the samurai bearing Oden's mantle
* Zoro is that samurai
* Zoro is going to surpass Oden
* Zoro will replicate Ryuma's legend
* Zoro will leave Wano recognised as the Second Ryuma and new "God of the Blade"
Killing an already defeated Kaido fails to accomplish that.
