I'd expect them to cook..

Remember that is a speed feat

Sanji blocks, not parry but blocks, the attack and immediate nigh instantaneously kicks the shit out of Gandhi like in the fan animation.

Its just obvious observation and interpretation.. Let's see what they do abou it.

They pulled off the garp blitz well i wonder what they're gonna do to this
Toei often does a really bad job when showing of Sanji's speed.
His invisibility speed against Queen was terrible, him saving Atlas before the Laser hit him was completely changed and made no sense, Sanji dashing to save Bonney was complete ass etc...
So i don't expect anything good from Toei.
The scene with nusjuro is also not easy to make into an animation without losing the impact of the clash and the speed.
If they focus on the speed and Sanji clashes with the sword for like 1 frame, it's not gonna have the same powerful impact as in the manga and i think most people won't notice it or pay enough attention to it, since it happened too fast, but if they focus too much on it and it's almost like a clash-struggle the sense of speed is gonna get lost.

The speed feat against Oven looked vastly superior in the anime than the actual vastly superior feat that he did against Queen. It's not even an animation problem but a directing one. There is a scene from an anime called " The Eminence in Shadow"(never watched it but saw this scene in specific) where one of the characters preforms a speed feat that was directed in a simple but brilliant way. The character takes a step, disappears and the audio completely cuts off, it was only for an instant but that directing choice elevated a cliche anime blitz moment to something more impactful and memorable. When Oda wrote the Sanji invisibility speed moment, I have no doubt that he had something similar in mind, hence the comparison to invisibility and the usage of the same sfx, but Toei didn't even consider the details. They took a highlight moment and just blended it in with the rest. A complete failure in direction which shows a lack of care and creativity.

Haki technique that can be learned by anyone.

I imagine it's got to something to due with imbueing HK with foreign Haki to interfere with their regen ability.
That’s Morj’s theory too but even then I still think it’s unrealistic to expect everyone to be able to learn this (weak SHs and Revos) Even more so when this is being linked to black blades & shit. Personally I’m leaning more towards an ability of the D’s being a counter to it. So just like Imu granted his subordinates abilities maybe Luffy can too. Of course there could be a way to do it with Haki to but that sounds more realistic to me than the SHs who don’t even kno regular Haki learning it or the Revos somehow learning it.

If regen is the new Logia then just like Logias can be countered using Haki, opposing elements, sea stone and even technology like with the photonic gloves which would be a type of counter to Kizarus fruit; maybe regen is similar. A specific application of haki can be just one of multiple ways.

Yh think it has to be the way to go with this ^^
Would be dope to have all the SHs learn Haki but sounds like a bit of a stretch to expect them to go even above and beyond that.
How do u reckon Gaban’s doing it though?

The haki theory feels way too lackluster imo. Sommers’ reaction means this is the first time he’s ever dealt with or heard of the immortality not working. And seeing how the HK have been active for decades the answer being an application of a very common ability feels like it causes more problems than it answers.

Yup it cheapens the regen ability quite a bit except of course pouring Haki into something and making it last is a very difficult technique to master. I see where Morj is going with this & it does make sense but it’s a nah from me.

I actually believe Gaban is manifesting his emotions into spiritual power. Haki is just willpower made into a weapon, it stands to reason that if ones will can be made into a spiritual weapon then so to could deep emotions. Love is like a nucleus, it's not an independent feeling, but rather both positive and negative emotions surround it. It's an emotion that actually can strengthen ones will to protect, save or even hurt/harm, that's where haki can come into play. Sommers has his own twisted concept of what "love" is, one of pain, one that's associated with tragedy and the negative. But just like a mother gets the physical strength to lift a car off of her child because of the love she feels, she preforms a feat that shouldn't be possible for her to do in normal circumstances, that's the positive element. What if Gaban is able to weaponize this at will, what if Buccaneers had this ability intrinsically. This could be what allowed Kuma to keep pushing even after the injuries and the shutdown, preforming a feat that, under normal circumstances, shouldn't be possible. So I think that Gabans perspective on love is what will prevail over Sommers, the positive over the negative. He weaponized his love for his son into a spiritual weapon, probably with haki mixed in and it allowed him to preform a feat that shouldn't be possible.

Intersting so PoL :DeepThink:
I mean he did call himself the minister of love so him being able to use this ability would fit.
I'm of the opinion that PoL is an innate special ability of the Buccaneers but this is a pretty interesting take on it ^^

Honestly it's just those in charge of the anime right now, they have an obvious agenda of undermining Sanji the best they can even in non fighting scenes (while conveniently enhacing Zoro for obvious reasons), so im just expecting the worst after they made Sanji go from dominating S-Shark in the manga to falling on his knees needing Nami to help him in the anime lmao

At least Wit Studio exists, perhaps in a few decades we are going to be watching the best of the best adaptations of Sanji moments and leave Toei's bullshit behind 4ever
:finally:

Stay hopeful bro :catsweat:

Here's some well needed nourishment*

The Oven scene was pretty good in terms of showing Sanji's speed (outside the bad animation itself), but even here Toei had to fuck it up...

Sanji moved so fast that nobody could see him, he even states it himself.
In the manga nobody could see him, despite looking right at him (top left corner)

But the anime went out of it's way, like usualy, to make the scene worse. Here you can see that Toei turned everybody around, so they aren't even looking in Sanji's direction, giving off the idea that was the reason nobody saw him and not his speed lmao

You can't make this shit up, they saw the panel where everybody is looking AT Sanji and went, ''Hmm, let's turn everybody around'' lmao
WCI had alot of bad filler that made Sanji look terrible.

Are they gonna do the whole manga? And can we even trust them? :memehm:

I think only the "chosen ones" being able to counter the Holy Knights would be extremely lame and run counter to Oda's style.

It seems much more likely to me the counter is a matter of knowledge and technique, not special bloodlines and secret abilities. This isn't Gaban's first encounter with an HK, and there's also really no reason to believe it's only his second. We know so little of what the Roger Pirates got up to or when.

It’s pretty on par with odas style when there’s a group of chosen ones already stated to be enemy of the Gods.

The Power of Love and Will of D are going to be explored here
