I don't really like whole "Xebec lives inside Teach" theory but this seems more likely the route Oda's choosing

That said, everything else about Teach supports he's more than just human. Abnormal body, at least 2 DFs, cant sleep, 3 skulls on his Flag, etc all seem to point to something not right with his character that we cant pinpoint just yet.
I am willing to be though that all of that has to do with Rocks, including how Teach knows how to steal fruits from people.
Truly fascinating that despite being Xebec's son,

That’s your headcanon… Oda simply chose to not have a 1v1 because he doesn’t care
your argument is that Oda always glazes these old legends and never has any of the usual asterisks in their fights that he always does in present day… That’s not true… Whitebeard has seemingly never fought a Serious Roger despite everyone glazing Whitebeard for being able to fight Roger… Roger and Garp are both given credit for taking down rocks… Rocks killed an admiral but it’s revealed that it happened at reverie, where we know that admirals are restricted
On and on Oda never gives out clean fights even to too tiers
