Chapter Discussion The GOAT Enters the Story: Rocks D. Xebec Appreciation Thread

#1
Since the latest chapter dropped, I’ve seen plenty of powerscaling debates and agenda posts, but not enough threads appreciating just how brilliant of a character Xebec really is. This character single-handedly resurrected a dead forum back to life! Fans are already calling this one of the best post-timeskip chapters. Once again, Oda reminded us why he is a master of his craft.

Design
Xebec has an awesome design. From the moment he appears, he exudes raw, explosive energy. His wild, spiked hair looks like he is about to go Super Saiyan. His physique and attire are monstrous - a far cry from his son.

A Man With Zero Chill
Rocks D Xebec doesn't play games. He enters every fight with Michael Jordan's killer instinct - take everything personally, crush everything in his path. There is no compassion or teaching moment. You are in the way, you will be crushed. When child Loki stood in his way, he didn't hesitate to give him a cold blooded beatdown.

The Freest Man on the Sea
Luffy believes the freest man in the sea is the Pirate King. If that's true, then there has never been a better Pirate King than Rocks D Xebec. While Luffy's freedom means adventure with friends, Xebec's freedom means tearing down the entire system - nobody to rule you ever again.

Rocks enters the land of Gods, kills an admiral as a side quest and finds the most untouchable figure in the world. This man delivers the threat and walks away with no fucks given =>

The Greatest Revolutionary
Pirates don't attack World Government. Xebec? He marched to Marijoas alone before forming a crew. People call Dragon the most wanted man on the planet, the greatest revolutionary. But compared to what Xebec did, Dragon's revolution is child's play. Man directly threatened the highest authority in the world while Dragon is probably still staring at East Blue wondering where to start =>

He who challenged the world
Xebec wanted to crush the navy. Pretty sure this is the first time a One Piece character has outright said they intend to destroy the Navy. Whitebeard attacked Marineford, but he was on a suicide mission. Harald thought Xebec's enemies were too big. But Xebec didn't flinch. This man had the guts like no other.

The Unstoppable All-Rounder
Was there anything this man couldn't do? I can picture this dude shredding guitars, clearing a poker table or taking over a dance floor like he owns the place!

Rocks D. Xebec - The Pirate we thought Roger was
After just one chapter, many readers are saying Xebec is what we all wanted Roger to be. Its not just strength - its also his presence. The man oozes charisma and swag - something Roger never quite had. While Roger begged rivals for help and tiptoed through Yonko territory, Xebec walks straight into hell and dares it to fight back. Just GOAT things!

Good post but remove the Dragon part. You guys are not ready for Dragon greatness. Xebec getting to Imus throne is impressive but meaningless if he cant kill Imu and even if did it then it would still not be enough since the WG still stands. Imu is an unknown to the world. The Gorosei are the highest authority.

What Dragon is doing is way way bigger than that. He is liberating nations around the whole world. Right now he has laid siege to MJ, that is the biggest act of war. It is this pressure which made the HKs seek help from Elbaf.

Dragon is suffering same as Mihawk for now. They are not required to be fully shown right now. They are the end game guys.

Yeah, the way Oda presents him is a masterclass in storytelling. The buildup and execution of that staredown with Imu was raw as fuck. One of the most hyped panels potentially ever is just a dude sitting down with a pistol in one hand, closely monitoring his prey. Oda even managed to drop a Davy Jones tease during all of that. This was a peak character introduction, one for the books.

I like Rocks, but I have things to say about him

He is a parallel to Roger. That is the reason he exists, and that is his limitation as well.

There is a clear understanding here that nobody thinks about!!!

Roger and Xebec are ONLY TWO GUYS AMONG SEVERAL PEOPLE THROUGHOUT HISTORY.

1. For those of us who believe that Roger and Luffy share a connection and it has to do with their souls, it also means Xebec and Blackbeard have this same connection.
2. Luffy was born with Conqueror's Haki from JOYBOY. Roger also had this same form of Conqueror's Haki, and it was also given to Luffy.
3. Xebec and Blackbeard are likely blessed by Conqueror's Haki from a PREVIOUS person who fought with Joyboy during the Void Century.

Now, with this said, a new perspective is introduced to Xebec. He is not the first of his kind, and neither is Roger, and neither is Luffy or Blackbeard, or any of the other people who were blessed with the Haki associated with the clan of D.

In the past, a man similar to Luffy with wings attacked another man with a reject dual, and they both disintegrated. This man could have been another Blackbeard, Xebec, or whoever fought Joyboy before.

Blackbeard and Luffy represent the current reincarnations of those people, and the story narrative is suggesting their final conflict is at hand.

What is fascinating about Xebec's character is he always had the ambition to destroy the system, because to him, eternal power doesn't exists

His speech in a sense was an indirect reference to Imu's(immortal) rule since the Void Century(more than 800 years ago)

And he even had the mindset that if not him, someone will one day pull it off, an indirect will passed on Blackbeard most likely

Is character is paying off, we all waited to see him and he just show up for two chapters and left us speechless, many people already have him as the true pirateking, that is just crazy and show again that you don´t need many flashback chapters to make a character peak.
Xebec had more aura in one chapter, then Oden and any other character in new world...
