This is what kills me…I’m not saying we should NEVER work, but we can’t even get a four-day work week despite all the studies in other countries proving that it makes employees happier and companies more profitable. That’s how you know you don’t have to actually be smart to become a billionaire; these horrible mongrels actively choose not to make even more money if it means loosening their airtight grip on an wage slave’s neck
What's better than exorbitant monetary profit?
Slightly less exorbitant monetary profit and watching everyone suffer. Watching people suffer and staying uneducated while they support political figures that hurt them even more is better than having another multimillion dollar yacht in addition to the other 10 multimillion dollar yachts.
Money alone doesn't bring happiness, to live a fulfilling life human souls are also necessary.
Irony aside:
This post is factual. There is no international food shortage like they always want us to think, there would be no issues feeding the growing population if it was fairly distributed and not so much lost in unstable conflict regions where storing grain for example is near impossible. Most countries in Africa that constantly experience famines actually produce enough food. To make it worse, many people in the global north have no idea this is the case which gives further rise to white supremacists who blame Africa's perceived inability to feed itself on its inhabitants being backwards primitives.
Even in a relatively rich European cointries a good portion of crops is destroyed directly on the field because it doesn't meet EU size and shape rregulations. 'Ugly' vegetables and fruit don't even make it to the supermarket. This is in addition to the over 50% that are thrown away in households. Yet we have idiotic politicians trying to convince us that we need more intensive agriculture with more pesticides to squeeze out as much profit as possible to feed everybody, only causing more harm to pollinants and the overall environment, further destroying our health. Wich in turn generates profit for pharmaceutical companies and the medical mafia.
