Whiskey Peak thoughts:
Zoro's moments at Whiskey Peak were way more impressive in the manga, as he struggled far less and his clash with Luffy was entirely removed from the live action. He also didn't overpower Miss Monday one-handed like he did in the manga. That's one of his rawest moments. Big miss.

That being said, the choreography and intensity of Zoro slaying 100 bounty hunters were insane. I don't hate it, but it shouldn't have been that much of a challenge.

In all fairness this is more of an OPLA thing in general

I think they wanna add more credibility/fear factor to the villains by having the Strawhats struggle a bit more. Cause if you actually reread pre timeskip you’ll come to realize that the Strawhats pretty much sweep all of their opponents up until Alabasta

They were basically a super team until they hit the Grand Line

Like even against Arlong they made Luffy struggle and use his environment to beat him (extreme change, since the wording makes it sound like without the building falling on top of Arlong he wouldn’t have lost)

I understand why they do it but it can be frustrating at times

The usual crowd seeing Roger's name being used for Zoro's plots :tai_shook:

so far the only changes that I disliked are:

omitting zoro Vs Luffy in whiskey peak

and

zoro inspiring brogy

which are not really a deal breaker....crocus gag removal also hurt ngl

s2 so far (till ep 5) has been really solid

the whiskey peak ending with mr 8 sacrificing scene should have been emotional but the way they executed it...is so bad it felt like a cheap B rated show lmao...I mean we are supposed to feel sad for Vivi seeing igaram explode but that scene was comedic AF

Expected after they completely removed Zoro beating Arlong's goons and scaring the shit out of him, instead they had him bleed out in the background while the cook beats his opponent.
And yet Zoro still gets the best scenes because his manga moments are that much better than what everyone else gets. :risiflip:

I don't think that makes much sense, it's probably better for them to sweep their opponents because then they might think the Grand Line will be similar, get clapped, then realize "Oh, shit, they're not playing around here, we might really die if we don't start taking things seriously and bettering ourselves", and that's what makes them start to improve and get progressively tougher along the way.
