@Roo even if Iran won't win this war they are gaining more than they expected themselves
Their shahed drones would be in great demand after the war. Cheaper and easy to mass produce would be sought by many developing nations. Defense exports in unstable region can come really handy for an economy.
Then, they are considering levying toll tax on ships passing through Hormuz. Even if they don't, World knows how important Iran is to have continuous supply of oil and gas through Hormuz. It increased their geopolitical weight on global stage.
Third, lifting up of sanctions on Iranian oil could be seen as an incentive to make Iran not target Gulf oil assets and let ships pass through Hormuz but it's a big win for Iran. They can now supply oil at high prices like Russia (massive gains) while squeezing Hormuz to control supply of oil from Gulf if US and Israel continues to attack.
