Fog is extremely dangerous for metals in overexposure cause it accelerates the rusting process. Its microscopic water in the air where the usual rain and water cant reach. Its also a kingdom on the sea which adds in salt which eats faster through surfaces cause its an electrolye when dissolved so it also accelerates the reaction between metal and oxygen.
