Can you spot the visual difference between Advanced Armament Haki and Advanced Conquerors Haki (CoC coating)? Because many users cannot.
On characters, this is invisible (since it only affects the inside).
And at lower intensity, it just hurts really badly:
Advanced conqueror coating is different. It creates a conqueror shield around the armement Haki that will strenghten and multiply the effect on top of bypassing advanced forms of defense.
This takes a shape of a space between the weapon or limb and the point of impact and black Inc shadow like lightning at high intensity and simple black lightning streaks at low intensity (like the second attack of Katakuri on the picture I just provided):
Worth noting that a strike can also happen when two characters with conqueror haki impacts eachothers with armement haki:
It is important to note that Haki represent the will and personnality of a character. Is not a stair like power system, it's a spectrum and said spectrum can have different intensity and shapes depending on the character. You will have character with a advanced observation haki but at low intensity and some character with a basic form of Haki but at high intensity. The same way, Conqueror coating is not a set of 1 and 0, it's fluid, and sometimes the character will use it at low intensity.. and sometimes even unconsciousely just like Zoro.
It's also important also to note that armement haki and conqueror haki are basically Haki, so they are not separated fondamentally by a different form of power, this is why Zoro unconciously used CoC thinking he was using armement. It's again, a spectrum. Coc coating on armement is simply a form of combinaison of the presence of the will and the power of the will.
(observation Haki would be the range and awereness of the will)
In fact i'd recon one could use conqueror coating without armement at very low intensity:
