Khamzat & Volk W Oda hypes up Akainu's offense but Aokiji and Kizaru really aren't any lower on that, they are just as capable as him of dealing absolutely devastating damage and destruction.
GB too looked extremely dangerous with his abilities, regarding Fujitora, he is a top tier blind swordsman with what should be a really broken DF, nuff said.

There's no reason for the commander in chief to take action when the Marine underlings are right there. Even a retired Kong should still be a top tier, even if not in peak/prime (but I think he'll be in his prime somehow).
And if it wasn't Akainu they'd use the CP0 instead or Garling or Holy Knights, way before using Kong. Don't lose faith!

I haven't written anything on the aftermath of Egghead, I personally see Kizaru coming out of this alive since I do believe that Oda wants to set up the "Mid- Generation" top tiers more, hence the Ws for Shanks/Teach. With the new gen taking Ls (Kid/Law/young marines) and the old gen taking Ls (Garp). -
