So Kaido won by taking Momo hostage. Not surprised, Kaido and Orochi are very much alike in some ways. Both snake-like dragons and both very underhanded. I'm glad however, it means there wasn't a huge gap between Oden and Kaido strength-wise. Oden actually had a chance.
Chapter break hurts the...
Pretty funny episode between Shinobu's fear of sharp objects and Luffy's rivalry with Kidd. I really enjoyed it, but the hippo guy weirded me out a bit. I mean I knew he was strange from the manga, but seeing him in motion was kind of surreal. Luffy and Kidd kicking the crap out of him was great...
I voted for:
Thank you for loving me: It's impact on Luffy made it very memorable for me.
WB vs Roger: great panel!
A man dies when he is forgotten: Probably one of my favorite scenes in the entire series.
The Death of Merry: First time I ever cried for a boat.
I would like it to be one of the alliance members or nine scabbards was well. Kanjuro is the popular guess since he we don't know much about his past or what he was doing on Dressrosa during Kinemon's absence.
She feels more like a red herring to me. Someone you could think is the traitor but just diverts attention from the real deal. She might be mistrustful, but I think deeply caring about her friends makes her that way.
The traitor is probably someone who is not obvious or acting suspicious in...
Ugh, not sure why Oden trusted Orochi to give him a boat or do anything decent for that matter. Maybe Oden humiliated himself hoping Orochi would turnover a new leaf and give back the kingdom? Did he do it just to protect his people? Either way he should have seen that double cross coming a mile...
Yikes, so Oden got stopped, jailed, then Orochi and the old lady run Oden's reputation into the ground by using the clone clone fruit. Just when I though Orochi couldn't be a worse person, he surprises me.
A few come to mind...
Luffy, Usopp and Chopper: They are like the kids in the crew. Always getting into trouble and always curious about the world around them. The three are very like minded, but really different from each other. A good source of comic relief for sure.
Zoro and Sanji: Boy, talk...
Aside from Roger, I presume we are getting to Oden's finale now. I hate to see what's waiting for this guy back in Wano, but it can't be good. He should have brought some guys back with him, but Roger was sick and WB had enough of Wano. So I guess that's out of the question.
I guess Roger's part of the flashback isn't over quite yet. Roger probably would have been a terrible dad. I don't think Ace would have liked him if he did survive. Roger would have been a full-time adventurer after all. Then again Luffy and Usopp also had absent fathers; so it's a common theme...
Quick predictions::catsure:
- Kid and Killer are hotheads that likely will get in trouble and have to be rescued by the Strawhats. Kid will probably have to fight along side Luffy.
- X-Drake will either keep working behind the scenes or will provide the alliance with the necessary info to take...
Oh boy, not looking forward to the rest of this flashback knowing what's going to happen to Oden. So hoping it's kept short, maybe just a chapter or two. That way we can get back to the main story-line by February. :owo:
Excellent arc! The fights were well done, the suspense was great, villains were great, and EL along with the whole Water Seven Saga is one of the most emotional arcs in One Piece. Top tier material for sure.
I would just want the focus on making sure the narrative is more concise. The problem with arcs like Dressrosa and Cake Island is that there were too many ideas introduced which ultimately cluttered the narrative. Zou in comparison was much shorter and more focused which made for a better arc.
Fishman Island - 3
Probably my one of my least favorite arcs in One Piece history. Down there with the Davy-back fight, but at least that was mercifully short. The basckstory was great, but Hody felt like a discount Arlong. Sanji was flanderized beyond belief, and the princess character was...
Finally got around to seeing the episode. It was nice to see Mihawk and Perona again. Plus Blackbeard smashing the to be continued sign was great, heh.
Queen and King get formally introduced next episode. I'm looking forward to it.
