I wonder if Donquixote Doflamingo ends up having a pivotal role in the endgame. I don’t think Oda teased going “higher up” to the Celestial Dragon occupied Mareijois to escape the rising seas for no reason.
Good chapter with some of great lore, but Oda's stalling is becoming unbearable. Vegapunk is kind of just beating around the bush with a lot of stuff we already know. The whole chapter should have just been lore, but 60% of it came down to character reactions. Like we get it Oda the world is...
So true. Egghead has been great but the amount of padding and "fodder reaction" panels that Oda implements really puts a damper on things after waiting multiple weeks for chapters to drop. The buildup to Vegapunk's announcement of the OP world being underwater was ridiculous. Like just get on...
Zoro getting no real character development in Wano. He didn't train with samurais, he didn't meet Ryuma's spirit, no back story, no nothing but a fight with King that lasted like 30 seconds.
I'd also have to agree with the Aokiji/Akainu fight being off-paneled.
Damn good chapter. You can feel the sense of urgency. Loved how the crew were so determined to protect Nico Robin.
Big W for Sanji.
So the world is gonna sink into the ocean huh? Oda just keeps throwing these curveballs at us, so what does that mean for EOS?
Gorosei for sure. Saturn going there was something I didn’t think would happen yet in the manga until around EOS so that was already shocking in its own right. Then he started fighting and the rest of the Gorosei joined. Now it’s just a WTF moment. All of these reveals are happening way earlier...
You’re reading way too much into it, I don’t think Oda himself has even thought that far into it. Zoro is not getting a fully fleshed out backstory. It’s kind of too late. Wano was Oda’s chance to do it and even draw more about Ryuma but he fumbled that and focused on worthless Scabbard...
I hope no one. I hope he actually wins his fight whatever it may be, and takes a different story direction. I doubt the ENTIRE World Govt all lose. Lucci has been wrecked enough over the course of the manga, let him get a win in the end someway, somehow.
Luffy and his goofy ass is nowhere close to all 3 versions of Super Saiyan, especially SS3. Ultra Instinct and how Kakarot reaches that state is not even in the conversation when comparing to Luffy. At least one acts like an adult when shit goes down. Kakarot wins by a landslide for me.
I like Zoro but he hasn’t had any character development since Alabasta outside of “getting stronger”. He also has no personality. Just cool attacks.
Vegetas character arc from the Saiyan saga all the way through to acknowledging Kakarot as the best during the Majin Buu saga was PEAK. So Vegeta...
