Kaido and the Beast Pirates as a whole are super disappointing to me given how much Oda hyped up their brutality.
When Kaido mentioned to Luffy that his side has suffered losses in Onigashima I busted out laughing.
It literally is, lol.
You'd think Shuiesha/Jump/Oda would get the message by now and throw in unquestionable cannon material like JJK/Demon Slayer/DB Super and just roll around in the mountain cash, instead of this half hearted alt-universe tripe.
Its meaningless because its nothing more than a cosmetic wound that can't even be seen.
Its overrated because the people praising it are inherently disappointed with Zoro's character development and importance to the story.
Outside of gifting Zoro Enma, I truly struggle to think of a reason for Hiyori even existing in the first place.
She seems to be the most irrelevant of all the "princesses" introduced in the series. No one seems to even care about her when it comes to reviving the Kozuki clan, everyone is...
Overall WSS feels weak, but the biggest reason for me is that Zoro's dream feels divorced from the main plot.
Most of the Strawhats dreams essentially revolve around finding the One Piece or the idea of a unified world/bringing the dawn
Luffy becoming PK and finding One Piece
Nami making a map...
I'm waiting until the arc ends before I make my mind up. Big Mom saying her giving Kaido the fruit is a lifetime debt and the CP0 guy's comment makes me raise an eyebrow and think there might be more to the fruit.
...but if what we currently see is all we get than yeah, pretty disappointing in...
I don't think so, and it's primarily because of the role of the Wano citizens.
Oda tends to have the citizens (and by citizens I mean non combatants) play an active role in fighting against their oppressors as part of their character development, especially post time skip.
Fishman Island: the...
Interesting thing about Doflamingo is that when Mihawk showed up at the Warlord meeting after Crocodile's defeat it was Doffy who showed surprise at his appearance. Could very well be a coincidence but it's curious to me that the guy who knows the secrets of the World Government has been...
I've had a similar thought regarding Mihawk mainly because of the Dracula/vampire motif, absorbing haki because of either Yoru or actually having a devil fruit (I prefer the Yoru option)
Either:
1) Oda has little interest in Mihawk's character plot wise.
2) Oda is going out of his way to hide how powerful Mihawk really is.
Given he is not an opponent for Luffy in the future I'm inclined to think 1.
Only way I see 2 happening is if Oda makes a twist that Mihawk has been part...
I can see why you would think this given how Oda has structured certain things.
Since you believe Sanji > Zoro, what exactly is the point of Zoro's character in your eyes? He's not the #2 in strength or leadership roles, his role as combatant is completely redundant (especially if/when Yamato...
ZKK is whatever to me, but I'd be cool with it just for that. It's crazy how the first person to join the crew feels so irrelevant to where the plot is heading and has a largely redundant role in the crew. ZKK wouldn't fix everything, but it would be good enough, especially if there is a reason...
It looks like people trying to make Zoro more important plot wise, and I don't blame them for trying cuz right now his role looks meaningless to the future plot and his role in the crew is redundant.
Beating Mihawk isn't going to fix that. Yes he'll be the strongest swordsman alive but that...
I'd say so. Especially since Oda might be planning something significant with Zoro and Ryuma given it seems like he's been planning a connection between the two since the very beginning of the story.
