Idk the way I see it this flashback is supposed to be a tragedy, probably moreso than anything else we’ve seen in One Piece. I think Kuma dying for real would be a heartwrenching but appropriate conclusion to his story
Nah we gotta see Kuma and Bonney on Sabaody
They're both motivated by love for each other, but when they're both finally in the same place they're not allowed to reunite. That's 100% the kind of emotional gut punch the story isn't gonna skip out on
tl;dr - this flashback is going for a slow pace and there's still a lot to get through so don't expect it to end anytime soon
So I know a lot of people want the story to go back to Egghead so we can see things like Zoro vs Lucci, but looking at what we know about both Kuma and Bonney and...
I agree that Kuma choosing to sacrifice himself for Bonney wouldn't change that he's so filled with love for his daughter that he doesn't even care that he needs to die. But at the same time I think that the backstory overall is elevated by the fact that we knew before it even started how tragic...
Honestly I sorta do. I don’t think it undermines it AS much since Robin still lost a lot of people regardless, but here Kuma’s and Bonney’s relationship is so central to their flashback that I feel like their whole storyline wouldn’t be nearly as impactful if they manage to bring Kuma back

I think if Kuma sees Luffy in Gear 5 before dying and getting to say goodbye to Bonney before dying, that would be a really great way to tie his story together.
My main issue though is if they manage to have Kuma return to his original self for good, then I think that it sorta cheapens the...
I think I would prefer it if the Seraphim were treated more like independent characters rather than simply extensions of the originals. I could see S-Bear breaking free of his programming and attacking Saturn because he retains the love Kuma had for his daughter, but I would definitely prefer it...
At this point I don't think there's any way for Kuma to come back.
They've spent multiple chapters hammering home that Kuma is functionally dead and that he is choosing to sacrifice his life to save Bonney. And that's not even getting into how Akainu melted off half of his face.

Now most of the Celestial Dragons we see in the story are a bunch of lazy disgusting fucks, but the rare few who actually bother to apply themselves are really impressive:
Shanks: One of the Yonko and one of the strongest characters in the series
Doflamingo: YC1 tier warlord (And before...
Yeah they’ve spent the last 2 chapters building up this idea that Kuma so badly wishes he could show Bonney the world and see all the places they talked about with her, but can’t due to Bonney’s illness/the world government. I think it would be really fitting for the Strawhats to fulfill Kuma’s...
