No clue, but the anime going on breaks after big arcs or collections of arcs could at least help with the pacing if that's the intention. I don't know beyond that, Oda's making the breaks a consistent thing, but I don't think it'll get worse or anything like that, probably just the anime side...

I agree with the thread. No need for a direct bloodline connection. Inheriting his will and posing a similar threat to Luffy as Xebec posed Roger is enough.
