You talk like the "I'd worry about Wano" thing is the main reason. In reality, it was "Wano won't be safe without me, and besides, I'd worry about them a lot". One speech from Momo about how he'll never learn to protect Wano with a babysitter doing all the work and she can leave without much issue.
There's a difference between what you want to do and what you feel like you have to do. The core message of One Piece is to peioritize the former. It's exactly the same thing that happened with Sanji when he wouldn't leave Baratie and they had to force him out to follow his dreams.
I mean she literally admitted she had to lie to get him to let her stay, so yeah he doesn't realize it. Next cover story could be Yamato trying to find a purpose in Wano like she said she would and coming up short, then Momo finds out and sends her away to follow her dreams, she follows the path...
All that needs to happen for her to leave Wano is for Momo to find out that she only stayed because she thought they needed her. He'll kick her ass out to go follow her dream.
Honestly, I think it's possible that Oda delayed her joining just because she'd shift the balance on egghead too much. They'd need two admirals to keep up with the strawhats if she was there, and he's not ready for multiple to go down. Blackbeard shows up soon and she'd have Kuzan to fight, so...
Oh, I didn't realize he reiterated that it's still happening. But Lucci vs Kizaru is still a way less significant matchup than those three, so I doubt that's what he meant.
All Sanji has to do is stall Kizaru until Luffy or Zoro gets there for a major W. He's not beating Kizaru, but looking good in clashes against him and getting an objective win is entirely possible. I'm betting he looks good next chapter.
I'm going to back Yamato again. She wants to join, has a dream and an open invite, and she knows Luffy's secret dream. Maybe she'll show up later on and be a Jinbei situation. It's the only way all the blatant teasing makes any sense, especially if the other option is no one joining after all...
"You certainly have grown a lot. Let's put your growth to the test" - Kizaru to Franky
We got those light punching gloves, that's a chekov's gun if there ever was one. Who else can use them but Franky? The monster four have haki and don't need them. The rest don't fight by punches. Franky got...
If I was going to cope, it would be for Bonney and Kuma joining together. I'll jump on board if something actually makes it seem likely. For now I'm going with the assumption that no one is joining, and if I'm wrong I'll be pleasantly surprised.
Imo the crew is complete. We're basically at the end, and there isn't time to set up another member. Egghead was already pushing it. Whoever was joining had to be the center of this arc, and that was Bonney and Kuma.
