Some reasons for Kashimo to "succeed" where Gojo couldn't:
- Kashimo saw that technique before
- Kashimo might had better reflexes than Gojo
- Gojo was too used to his own CT which made him overconfident

I didn't like it the first time I saw it, but years after, I read the whole manga again and enjoyed it way more than I remembered it to be. My conclusion is that the anime was shit at that point

If you want a normal Shonen you can read Black Clover. From the moment that Gege killed that guy Yuji was trying to befriend it was pretty clear to me that it wouldn't be a normal Shonen
