This is why it is said to always bet on Kaido in 1 vs 1. Even if you have equal power to him, you will lose at the end.

We finally understand what makes Kaido seemingly invincible, it's not only his durability but his regen also. I guess when Hiyori said Oden was the only one to injure Kaido, she meant that he was the only one to give a wound that didn't regen after.
