Blackbeard's my favorite One Piece villain because he can get his ass kicked and still feel like a major threat. He's like Luffy in that they both take Ls but always win in the end.

None of the Blackbeard pirates are loyal to Teach. He pretty much said as much himself this chapter

So now that we know Kuzan actually is one of Teach’s crewmates and not just a double agent, the only counterpart he could have on the Strawhats who makes sense is Smoker. Especially considering that conversation they had in Punk Hazard
