True, kids probably don't really care as much; but when you grow up with certain series and want to check out others within the genre it's just the same concepts with different characters. And a lot of Shounen tackle adult topics — albeit, not as in-depth as Seinen — like the CA arc from HxH...

I think the Shounen genre is a dying breed. Every trope has been done before (inner demon, fighting demons, power of friendship, grandiose goal for the MC, etc ) and most mangakas seem to take major inspirations and themes from other works to the point where it comes off as a cheap copy.
