"That's" = that is. I'm not talking hypothetically, I'm talking about what is actually in the series.
You're persisting with a misunderstanding of what I said. It seemed to drive some other posters mad but I think you still have the chance to read my posts more carefully. And not, uh... show me...
Yeah, but he is much less susceptible to virtually everything else to which Garp would likely be susceptible. Of course he's also completely vulnerable to seawater but that's not really a weapon, just an unsuitable environment.
Izo isn't what I meant by fodder but being one of the only characters to die, funny enough...
Beckman is a chapter 1 character and in 1200 chapters will only have swinging it like a bat to his name. You can say that this or that named character "has a gun" but to make a point about the parallel...
For the longest time it seemed arbitrary as a fan discussing with other fans, but this point at least is simple: these guys use swords when they're means to an end, but they're all like King
In the face of someone better with a sword, they'll go along with whatever else they have. Imu's sword...
Sounds like he went trickster on his fan base. There's a plausible deniability to him outright being beaten by Shanks but in the end it makes absolutely no difference. He didn't agree to be chained up and it wouldn't have been up to Shanks if Loki was strong enough.
This is a fair point. Imu is Luffy's opponent and it's possible that Zoro will never even see him again for various reasons.
But as far as Imu's low diffs go, weren't you also saying that Loki went in heavily nerfed?
Imu doesn't count in either of those cases.
If you want to apply him to saying that there should be an asterisk next to Mihawk, I think it's pretty obvious that he'll go back to his random fighting style in later encounters. If he can't beat an unarmed man with a sword then I'm not putting him...
Every other? Not really
If anyone is saying Luffy's more vulnerable than most, I haven't seen it. That's not what I've been saying.
They didn't. Whitebeard was undefeated for the 20 years after Roger died and like Kaido, didn't lose 1v1 in the end. Can Mihawk lose if fighting several people...
Fire, lightning, poison, and whatever it is that allows Domi Reversi. He doesn't know how to counter freezing yet but Doflamingo already showed us that it's possible.
Telling me he doesn't have special resistance to sharp weapons is just agreeing with what I've said and no, not everyone has the...
... Luffy is going to survive it. The point that you missed is that he survives everything else much easier. You wanted to argue, but you could have easily just found another post or waited until another one came along lol
Oda accidentally changed powerscaling forever by having Imu almost score a direct hit on Zoro, but he wasn't careless enough to imply any of that was possible weapon to weapon
This wouldn't diminish him as a fighter, but it would definitely put him much further down in the swordsman category
If he's less vulnerable to everything else (fire, lasers, blunt force, lightning, poison) then yes, it's a specific weakness. The very best chance you have against Luffy is using a sword/blade by everything we've seen, aside from maybe Blackbeard's powers and obviously dumping him into the sea...
It's a stupid hypothetical meant to distract from Luffy taking what seems to be an instant L this chapter from a guy who only uses swords as a secondary offense, to spite fans of a character who uses swords as his only legit offense. To pretend that Luffy isn't weaker to cutting than anything...
That question has nothing to do with anything I said. I said Luffy has swords/blades as a weakness, which is self explanatory. Throughout the series it has been consistent from Higuma up to 1188.
You responded to my post with both "Luffy was beaten by blunt damage" and "he has blunt damage...
Having trouble isn't necessarily a vulnerability. Luffy's affected by blunt attacks with Haki but Imu, obviously the hardest hitter he's faced, couldn't really hurt him with a massive punch. Gear 5 turned Kaido's Kanabo hit, the Gorosei attacks etc. into gags.
Sure Garp is technically not any...
