Do we really think we're going to get any new core Straw Hat members at this point in the story? I feel like, since we've gotten the Straw Hat fleet, the whole system of alliance with Luffy has changed. You don't have to be on the Sunny to be a Straw Hat.

Since we're winding down into the endgame of OP, Vegapunk should show up at some point. But I'm skeptical that he'd emerge and confront anyone directly - what would be the purpose of that? He hides behind his creations. But, I do see us getting a between-arc scene of Vegapunk within the WG.

While I don't know that I agree on the details, I do think OP is moving toward a sun/moon motif in the endgame. And drawing parallels between Dragon and Imu is wise.

When constructing these theories, you've really got to ask yourself: what would be the point of this? If this theory were true, would it elevate the story? Raise the stakes? Enrichen the world? For me, the answers here are all no.

I'm partially with this. It would've been nice if the group fight went on a bit longer, then the Nika awakening came at the most dire part of the fight, and Luffy got to save his friends from the brink.

I'm with Oda's canon explanation for Sanji's fire - mostly because it matches Sanji's theme. His dad embodied cold science and Sanji separated himself by being a man of passion and emotion. If the fire were an intentional genetic mutation, it would shit on that whole part of Sanji's character.

We don't necessarily know that it's not awakened, do we? Maybe the awakened from allows for his resurrection, and it just gave him fire and flight previously.

Teech is almost certain Rocks' son - and I don't think it's unreasonable to make Akainu his brother (or half-brother). Could be an interesting way to explore how similar destinies manifest differently. Would also be a good way to thematically bring in the Garp/Dragon/Luffy lineage.

Bit of a stretch, lol. Not that Oda is some paragon of female representation in manga-- I'd wait until the anime catches up before taking on this question. We miss a lot fight details in the manga that end up present in the anime.

Knowing Luffy, and knowing OP so far, I'm guessing that the story will go past Luffy becoming pirate king - but he won't want to be king of the world. He'll want to dismantle the whole system. Luffy's dream is a totally free world, so he'll end the cycle of pursuing any king titles. He'll break...

I think this is one of those theories that works, but it's not something we'd ever actually seen written into the story. Franky already has such a rich and substantial backstory - I don't know what giving us another connection to his biological father would do.

Since we're dealing with Oda here, it makes sense that D would stand for a few different things, depending on who you ask. For the Celestial Dragons, D stands for Demon. For those who oppose the WG, D stands for Dawn. A whole overarching theme on One Piece is the necessity of one generation...
