General & Others After seeing the Shanks vs Kidd episode

How was killer hit lol
He not on the screen
It was the exp
But he was already close to Kidd, so it's legit to consider this option imo
Of course in that case he didn't take it full on like Kidd, since he was not Shanks target, but Devine Departure is still tough shit even if taken by collateral.

Many people were saying that Kidd got done in through a combo of Divine Departure and Kidds own attack exploding on his face when the chapter happened, I thought they were coping but after seeing the episode. I went and reread the chapter and after Shanks does Divine Departure on Kidd its accompagnied by a huge explosion. Now I dont think his Divine Departure caused that explosion lol, especially when Rogers didnt.

So the conclusion is Kidd got defeated because of Divine Departure and his own attack backfiring on him.

What do you guys think?
Don't know what episode you were watching, anime made it seem like the explosion had nothing to do with Kidd's defeat.

Kidd was out cold, the explosion was caused by the gunpowder on the ship. Kidd's gun didn't even explode like a bomb, it just got dismantled and Kidd got sent flying back due to DD's impact.

There was an explosion from the gun, there was then a purple light coming out of it that spread out through the ship and hit the the canon balls.

We dont see Kidds face or anything like that when Shanks hits him so idk where this assertion that he was already out cold comes from, we do see him getting blown back through Divine Departure and his weapon backfiring.

Nah there was nothing that affected Kidd in the episode, literally only the DD seemed to be honed in on Kidd, he suffered from no signs of searing damage, explosive burns etc. he looked clean as a whistle.

Before the anime I thought there was a chance he took some explosion damage, but the anime pretty much made it so none of that was a factor. Everything else was just collateral.

Kidd railgun is charged up he hit it, we see an purple light expanding from it, then it literally reaches all the way to the canons. The gun exploded and then the canons exploded, but there was an explosion from the gun we see it in the anime.

Bro Kidd very clearly had no blast injuries whatsoever, the anime very clearly depicted only DD doing that to Kidd and nothing else. Like I said, prior to the anime I thought there was a chance he would have blast injuries on him, but that simply wasn't the case, they even went the extra mile zoomed into the cannons on the ship and Kidd post explosion, to show us he was unaffected by the explosion.

There have been a few times where an explosion happened and the target wasnt seared, the anime isnt really super consistent with that stuff. You are choosing to deny that when the rail gun was cut in half it was in the middle of firing, and the laser inside it who was purple expanded and reached all the way to the canon balls.

What do you mean by the zoomed into the canons on the ship and Kidd post explosion?

Drop some examples then. I don't recall seeing someone take blast damage anime or manga and zero signs of blast injuries the second after it happens.

We literally saw Kidd still in the air post explosion, and then the force of DD sent him flying back. So not only could the explosion not give him any blast injuries, it also didn't even push him back, he was suspended in the air for the DD follow through.

From 51 secs on the rail gun explodes we see crew members getting affected by the blast and you wanna tell me Kidd wasnt affected ? We even see a weapon literally explode lol, and Killer is so far away from Kidd at that point. The manga says he was caught up in it, fair to say the explosion that happened from the rail gun + the explosion from the canons+ Divine Departure led to Killer going down, and Kidd too.

Ill have to search up the chapters bro, but why are you ignoring the video ? Did those crew members get blasted yes or no? They showed a weapon literally disintegrating. How did that happen?
:seriously: example pls, i've already broken down the anime scene multiple times in this thread.

Your argument is that Kidd didnt have any searing injuries therefore he wasnt affected by his railgun exploding on him and the canons.

But Kidd took a sword attack to the chest and he has 0 cuts as well.

So what are we to infer here?

Prior to the canons exploding we see someone’s weapon literally shattering in pieces, how does that happen?

As for the examples I literally said Ill have to search for the chapters, will come back to you tomorrow as its 1 AM here.

But your argument of no searin = Not affected by explosion isnt as strong as you think it is.

Another response and still no example? :pepeke:

DD doesn't cut. Didn't leave a cut on Oden either.
