Speculations All Of The Blackbeard Captains Are Awakened. In Fact, It’s The Crew’s Theme.

If you look at each of the post time skip Yonko crews, there’s a very clear theme to them in terms of the abilities of the crew members.

Beast Pirates - all Zoan users

Big Mom Pirates - all Paramecia users

Red Hair Pirates - no devil fruit users, ultimate haki based crew

Blackbeard Pirates - all devil fruit users, ultimate devil fruit based crew

Since the BBP are an inverse parallel to RHP who are portrayed as the ultimate haki based crew, the BBP will be the ultimate devil fruit based crew. And to fulfill this theme, most if not all of the titanic captains will be awakened.

A lot of people were confused by Big Mom, Kaido, and the beast pirates not having awakenings when someone like Doflamingo does.

The reason is because awakening as a common theme is being saved for a different crew. Blackbeard is going to have some way to force awakenings.

This also explains a lot of the seemingly disappointing showings from the BBP (ex - Shiryu will be able to go intangible M Bison style via awakening like how @nik87 predicts).

This is a very good point. There is even a statement in the Impel Down arc that the jailer beasts were forcefully Awakened!

Yes, Blackbeard pirates are built with the theme of being ultimate Devil Fruit merchants.
And their sloppy and disappointing theme will last until their purpose comes - fighting the Strawhats.
That's where the sloppiness stops and they turn into a complete nightmare - perfect counters to the abilities of every single SH member.

The SHs are the diversity crew: they have members from all the races, power styles, and combat declinations; haki, DFs, and machinery, all mixed in together.

I have a hard time seeing all of them awakened just because that’s going to mean odas going to have to be very creative which he won’t want to be. (Like what’s the awakening for an island fruit anyways)

The thing that connects them imo is that they take away their SHP opponents strengths, not that they’re awakened.

Possible, but it would be absurd if Shiryu is able of awakening the Suke Suke no mi in a matter of weeks or months after having its power transfered to him, when Absalom didn't awaken it after years of actively using it.

Although I vote for BBP as ultimate DF theme, but my guts feels unlikely to happen. Instead, BBP is the new (Bad) version of the WBP theme. While RHP is trying to imitate Roger Pirates.

Your take on Blackbeard being able to force awakenings is interesting ^^ and I wouldn't really put it past him tbh but I don't think all of them will be awakened. Unlike the Big Mom Pirates and Beast Pirates, there doesn't seem to be a concept of Sweet Commanders or Calamities separating the stronger executives from the weaker ones as all of the executives are referred to as titanic captains so reckon awakening will be be one of the methods Oda utilizes to drive a distinction between the stronger executives and the weaker ones apart from their bounties of course.

Which, if C3 patterns repeat themselves, will be followed up by Kizaru and then finally Akainu showcasing their awakenings.

Hopefully Smoker will get his as well at some point.
