i don't plan to sell it. or any of the pokemon stuff i collect in general tbh. i have no interest in looking for a profit or hunting prices down the line from purchasing products. other people might but I'm not one of them, i collect it because i genuinely like and am interested in it and that won't change anytime soon
I had a copy of an artbook by Genzoman that I bought a couple of years ago. It's somewhere deep in a box in the storage room, collecting dust. If it had been kept in more pristine condition, it could have been worth at least a couple of times more than what I paid for it at Indigo.
I also had this Blue-Eyes White Dragon Yu-Gi-Oh! card back in the early 2000s, and after foolishly messing around with it, it accidentally got ripped in half because I treated it like a piece of paper instead of a valuable collector's item. That card could have been sold for at least a thousand dollars ten or more years later.
So I knew you never planned to sell it, since there's no guarantee the value would increase much beyond what you paid. Besides, most people buy collector's items because they actually care about owning them, not just for the sake of turning a profit.
