Glad to hear you and your folks are doing ok and you're grandad had a lot of heart and mental strength from the sounds of it. Hearing you say he basically worked himself to death made me angry cause it reminded me of my grandad who had to grind through intense segregation. He was also working day n' night yet could only afford was a small townhouse.
I mainly blame Captialism for it all. Captilism is all about growth of profits, and encourages greed and exploitation. We can easily have universal Healthcare but it since it's not profitable for insurance companies, it's inside tied to your shitty job.

In fact, President Lyndon Johnson who signed the Civil Rights Act of 1964 said "I gonna have these ni**ers voting Democrat for the next 50 years."President Ronald Renald who signed off for MLK day in 1983 opposed the Civil rights act of 1964 and the welfare act for people of color in 1965.
