For Shanks though, I didn't expect him to be such a coward & hypocrite. He could've fought Big Mom & Kaido for the poneglyphs but never did.
And didn't he call out Green Bull for being afraid of the new era? Turns out they went and took poor Kid's arm when he was a rookie and now are ready to gangbang him to get the poneglyphs

Sigh... Pirates being pirates are fine with us, that is perfectly fine to write. The issue arises when they are only "pirates being pirates" due to plot convenience hence why it is lazy writing. Instead of setting up Shanks and BB in obtaining poneglyphs with proper development, Oda choice the most lazy route no different than a highschool student using a wiki summary to finish his homework he was assigned instead of actually studying and working hard independently to finish the homework. Oda writes like a lazy highschool student.
Yes it is weird a character like Law who is 2 years in New World create a plan to fight a yonku and Shanks who was in PK crew, he is a yonku, he has a grand fleet, he has giants don't try to take a poneglyph either against Big Mom or Kaidou.
BB has more excuses because he is captain for only 2 years and he wanted to learn earthquake fruit, he wanted to find new fruits for his crew. But at least he fought Marco and Wang Zhi.
