Aang retreads old ground about being the last of the air nomads, a plotline mostly done away with in Book 1 & 2.
A new group, "The Denied", who hate benders are looking for something tied to ancient airbenders. Just equalists without ideology.
Aang finds an even older airbender locked in a glacier atop a mountain and frees him.
This new guy, "Beta Zaheer" let's call him, is way more powerful than Aang in airbending for some reason. No, Aang doesn't look half the master he was in the original show, this guy can do things like crush metal airships with airbending.
The whole Gaang meets and Toph's defining character trait is being horny, Sokka is too much like Bolin and they forget he's supposed to be a creative, tactical mastermind with a good instinct on situations. They only briefly bring it up in the final act.
They find an old island on the other side of the world, Beta Zaheer wants to use a staff made by a former air nomad avatar to harness the powers of the spirit world and rebuild the "Air Empire" and create new airbenders by giving non-benders airbending.
He was a non-bender made an air bender by the previous air nomad avatar, before she locked him up after he goes crazy due to his air nomad friends being killed by earthbenders.
There's a massive battle over Republic City where Beta Zaheer uses the staff to gain and I quote
"ALL THE POWER OF THE SPIRIT WORLD", fights Aang equally, almost crushes Republic City to make his new Air Empire after giving "The Denied" airbending.
Eventually loses, Aang for some reason says they could've been brothers, before Beta Zaheer dissolves into spirit dust as they recount Air Nomad poetry together
It's basically fanfiction with elements of each Korra book shoe horned in, each character feels very off, written by someone who vaguely remembers the highlights of the original series. Voice acting is mid at best but usually bad.
I've seen people on 4chan and twitter even boil the villain down to an "Airian Nationalist" cause he's basically just... Very racist and a supremacist.
