Without comparing the two eps and only talking about the reactions to the Re Zero ep, that just goes to show how most people miss context and don't get the symbolism or the subtlety of certain moments. Basically they must be spoon fed. They just want all bang bang bang and no character development. What you'd expect from "shounentards"
It's more than just "Oh they don't understand because they are Shonentards."

Plenty of anime only are just casuals and not hardcore watchers or hardcore Re:Zero fans.

Lol fuck no, yeah that was a really great episode but better than the entire season yeah no.
agree to disagree
Momo is easily one of the best MCs in an ongoing manga/anime.

Aira literally turned the audience's opinion on her from negative to positive in less than a season.

No way they are both just surface level. They are far from shallow.
ok show me their character depths
Re:Zero's episode 7 literally got overshadowed by Dandadan's episode 7, dude. :gokulaugh:

The week when both episodes air, Dandadan got praised all over the place while Subaru yapping for half an hour mostly got criticized. :kobeha:
general opinion doesn't matter to me whoever thinks Subaru's speech was yapping doesn't understand Re:Zero

also that mommy episode of DAN DA DAN is good but overrated

you can have the honor :myman::myman:
You do know not everything has to be super deep to be good.

Also saying that episode was overrated is just plain fucking stupid when it isn't.

The animation was well done, the pacing was good, and the flashback didn't feel dragged out.

Just because it's not super deep doesn't mean it's bad or overrated.

And stop acting like you are some anime expert.:zosleepy:

"Oh they don't understand the deep meaning of this episode of Re:Zero! Blah blah blah!"

Lol fuck off seriously, criticizing or calling someone a shonen tard because they didn't care or understand a certain episode is just fucking dumb.

As I said before not everyone is going to be a hardcore watcher or a hardcore fan.

@The White Crane
I'm someone that still prefers Re:Zero as a whole more than Dandadan.

But I saw some entitled Re:Zero fans that were salty that many people enjoyed and preferred Dandadan episode 7 more.

Which was really dumb to see, like does it matter which episode was better, as long as you enjoy the episode you liked that's all that matters.

And as I said before, both were great episodes and for me neither were bad or overrated.

Unlike Al Clown.:giogio:

you said a whole lot and even called me clown ok cool

however tell me where did I say that the episode was bad??

I literally said the episode was good

just cause you've an opinion doesn't mean I have to agree with that

I was expressing my own opinions so why are you getting triggered for??

Even if Subaru didn't spend episode 7 yapping and yapping and yapping, his episode still wouldn't surpass Silky and Aira's episode 7. :youcraz:

Look, no one can deny Re:Zero is a great series. It just had the absolute misfortune of having to face off a generational GOAT like Dandadan this season. I am sure reception to Re:Zero will improve in Winter season since it doesn't seem to have to contend with another generational masterpiece then.

If you have watched Dandadan and still think neither Momo nor Aira's characters were clearly developed from the first time they were introduced to their last appearance in Season 1, then I can't help you. No amount of things I say will help you understand if not even the anime make you notice something so blatantly obvious. :jordanmf:

Sorry, but The Apothecary Diaries easily > Dandadan. Also for some people it will be Sakamoto Days > Dandadan.
:endthis:
That's fair. The Apothecary Diaries can certainly qualify as one of the best ongoing series, just like Dandadan. I think Dandadan is the better series of the two, but both are GOATed and I have no problem with either one winning out. :myman:

Sakamoto Days is not as good as either Dandadan or TAD, though. :ronalaugh:

Come to think of it, this means Re:Zero will face a heavy competition from TAD Season 2, then. Interesting.

All three are great series but for me it is Dandadan>The Apothecary Diaries>Sakamoto Days.

When it comes to Sakamoto Days, even though I do like the series, it's mainly just a action story only.

I feel like if you are someone that mainly prefers lots of action then yeah you are going to love Sakamoto Days, hopefully the anime does a good job with the action scenes.

Also when it comes to The Apothecary Diaries, that series is easily going to be in the top 5 best selling manga and light novel again in 2025.

Idc about comparing the 2. Not my point at all from the previous post.

This all started because of fucking Mr. I know everything Al.:goatasure:

Comparing both series or episodes is just dumb, both series are great in their own ways, and both had really great episode 7.

Which series or episode 7 is better, is a matter of personal opinions.

But I will say this again just because someone didn't enjoy or understand a certain episode doesn't make them dumb or a shonen tard.

Again you have to realize that there are so many casuals out there, that just simply watch and move on to the next episode or series.

Hmm I like from Baka to Test but tbh I think I don't really appreciate comedy in general. It's probably due to my mind state. There are times that the same type of jokes hits but other times not, be it from other types or from that "kawaii cliche slapstick comedy" as you put it.
Mashiro Blue: "I don't think I really appreciate comedy in general."

Also Mashiro Blue:
Has Comedy as the second most watched genre.

Mashiro Blue: "Can't say I'm surprised for mine lol."

To clarify my point, it was not a "jab" at casuals, I did use the term shounen tards as it's normally what is used for casuals I believe, but anyway that's not important and people can like/dislike whatever they want and watch whatever they want. In hindsight I should maybe I could have not used that term.

My point was that using the majority's reaction as an argument to reinforce the notion/show that anime X > anime Y is moot/not a valid argument. Because as most are casuals, which is fine on its own, it can't really be used as a measure as that majority/casuals likes mostly the same type of thing. Basically it's not an objective quality measurement to determine the better show and/or proof of argument. Which was what I was responding to and my intention when I made that post.

Anyway that's that.
