Best Female characters in fiction

Dragomir

#63
Hermione Granger and Yumeko from Kakegurui. Hermione is great. She's crazy smart and knows her shit. Whatever the hell she had going on with Ron in the Half-blood Prince was hilarious.

As for Yumeko, she's just batshit insane.

Antigones, Medea, Lady Macbeth, Phedre (Racine’s one), Hester Prynne (form Hawthorne’s novel « The Scarlet letter »), Anna Karenina and Nastasia Filippovna (from Dostoyevsky’s novel « The idiot « ).
Honorable mentions: Athena (Odyssey) Princess Leia, Emma Bovary, Sarah Connor, Juliet, Jackie Brown.
I think that, paradoxically, old authors managed to represent females much better than contemporary ones in their body of works.
Just came in the middle of my fourth Berserk reread, i would like to add that outstanding character that is Caska, simply amazing.
