Powers & Abilities Black Blades are overrated

Roger is stronger than Mihawk tho

Even Mihawk put Roger on a pedestal, stating that it is harder to be PK than it is to be WSSM.
strength was the key factor ? Pfff

We all know the requirements to be PK are more difficult.

Power alone will not make you PK cuz you need the 4 red poneglyph and even if you got such you need someone who can read them( those are dead ).

That's why the Yonkos exist , they are stuck.

For becoming the PK, you must have a formidable crew, a perfect partner like Zoro, need 4 Poneglyphs, have to face yonkos and marines. And, MOST IMPORTANTLY, you must have someone who could understand the ancient language.

What do you need to become the WSS?
You don't even have to become a pirate.

Luffy becoming the PK won't be his alone achievement. Every crewmate is putting his/her life at stake just to fulfill his dream.

Mihawk was talking about the risks that come with the title PK. Don't add it with strength.

LOL no need to act dumb, We all knew that the PK is stronger than WSS.
To be real? Do we know that? It's harder to achieve, sure, but that does not say anything about the respective roles of power in the story.

You don't need to be stronger than Roger to become Pirate King. It is arguably a more symbolic title than WSS from the way it was shown to us. No pirates "bowed" to Roger. At least none of his peers did. You need to be STRONG to reach the end of the Grandline, but you also need a fuck ton of luck. From what we know, the only reason Roger managed to do it is because of Voice of All things hack.

Roger didn't need to defeat any of his peers to become pirate King. He fought against Whitebeard more for shits and giggles from the looks of it, and the only real opponent he was shown to have overcome is Xebec and that was years before he came King with the aid of Garp. Maybe his fight with Shiki could be included if you want to be generous. But that's about it.

To put it bluntly, to become the World's Strongest Swordsman, you actually have to beat the World's Strongest. Zoro needs to beat Mihawk to accomplish his dream. Luffy however won't have to beat Roger to become Pirate King. He "only" has to get towards the last island.

Actually, Zoro doesn't need to fight anyone for the title except Mihawk.

Zoro was looking for WSS without knowing who exactly he is. If this scenario would have persisted through the story then what you have said makes sense.

But oda introduced Mihawk right at the beginning and therefore giving Zoro a purpose that Mihawk is the man he needs to surpass.

Unlike PK which is an empty throne thus anyone can chase, WSS is a title and we have someone who has it.

Thus, if any swordsman wishes to pursue WSS title then they don't need to chase Zoro or fight zoro (unlike for PK title where pirates have to fight against each other) but directly seek out for Mihawk.

So I don't think any world building is missing here according to the story progressions we had
I believe we need more than that. Zoro has had only a single duel since Mihawk and that was with Ryuma 600 chapters ago.

Not one person who seeks the title

Not one person who got their ass beat by Mihawk and became disillusioned

Not one quick Chinjao-like statement regarding Mihawk

It's the fact that nothing substantial was given even one time. Oda simply tells you that Mihawk is the strongest and that he beat everyone, but we dont see the impact of it anywhere. Again, Oda could have done something at least once throughout 1000 chapters instead of jobber shit like Okama fodder, Hyouzou and Pica.

That's just false.
Remember when Mihawk beat Vista in a swordfight during Marineford?
