If Omens are a new magic system, similar to haki, I think there is a decent chance Teach can use this power.
The reason being, so far there is no explanation we are given for why Teach can use two DFs. With the introduction of this new form of magic, it seems like a likely avenue by which Oda could explain Teach’s mysterious ability.
Omens seem to be tied to DFs. In fact awakened Zoans like Lucci even seem to have a ring of Omen surrounding their bodies. So it seems reasonable an Omen user could use the power to eat two DFs.
Also, I’m guessing that Omens are possibly an ability unique to certain races that Imu tried to wipe out, one of them being the buccaneers/Davy clan. By wiping them out, Imu remained the only Omen user, thereby giving him supremacy over all others.
Teach is basically going to be like Shirahoshi here, the first Davy since Jones or whatever to possess the power of Omens. This power is probably Teach’s secret trump card. It’s not something he has openly used, as doing so would give away his identity as a Davy. But I do think it’s what allowed Teach to defeat Shanks the first time they fought. We know Teach isn’t a better haki user than Shanks, so it had to have been something else that gave Teach the edge. IMO this is it.
