Buggy's Bara Bara no Mi is about division: Buggy divides himself, separates.

Luffy brings people together. Buggy separates: he's constantly leaving to do his own thing.

Blackbeard's Fruit, the Yami Yami no Mi, negates Devil Fruits powers by absorbing them.

See where this is going?

Buggy's Awakening won't be about just dividing the world around him.

Buggy's Awakening will allow him to remove people's abilities from them. Buggy will literally detach the Lineage Factor gifted by Devil Fruits from his enemies, so that they can't use their Devil Fruit abilities.

Blackbeard's natural enemy isn't Luffy. Blackbeard's Fruit will be countered by the Genius Jester using the Bara Bara no Mi to separate Teach's Darkness from him. SASUGA, BUGGY SAMA!!!

That's the end to the gag. We still think Buggy is weak, when he was training with the Pirate King Crew. I think Roger dying just destroyed him internally, and made him cowardly/self-serving. Buggy has gone up against all kinds of strong enemies and never taken any real damage.

The punchline to the joke is that Buggy is strong as hell, he's just never applied himself. I firmly believe that Buggy will take his next step/Awaken after watching Shanks get hurt. No matter what he says, Buggy loves Shanks. If someone actually hurt Shanks, I think Buggy would go Ballistic. I meme about Buggy, but I have high hopes for him.
