He didn't die but he's unconscious his heart needs to stop beating for 10 minutes minimum to be pronounce clinically dead(10 mins no oxygen to organs especially the brain = dead)

Luffy din't even stay down for 10 minutes:risitameh:
If Luffy wasn't saved by Nika he would be dead so for all intents an purposes he shortly died and was revived..

What about people who don't want to be reanimated when their heart stop beating are they pronounced clinically dead on the moment or after the doctors wait a couple minutes for their brain to leave?..

Kaido said it himself that Luffy died, there's no reason to go against the manga..

It seems that the awakening started his hart back up again and if ask how does that work ,its a magical fruit that was made by oda that he hasn't told us everything about them so how the hell do we know how awakening works we havnt been told much about it, people stop asking questions about a topic that you should know no fan know answer for.

Luffy is still injured from the last attack, which is why his face is still scuffed and he said he can fight for a bit longer.
I don't mean it necessarily healed him entirely, that would be insane.

But his heart restarted so casually it probably has to do with the DF. That's nothing to be ashamed about though.

Kaido doesn't know how to check a pulse. That is Kaido's lone weakness. That and swords.

Blunt chest trauma, such is in a motor vehicle accident, may result in ventricular fibrillation. (please see commotio cordis below)

Without a coordinated electrical signal, the bottom chambers of the heart (ventricles) stop beating and instead, jiggle like Jell-O. Ventricular Fibrillation is treated with electrical shock, but for it to be effective, the shock usually needs to happen within less than four to six minutes, not only for it to be effective, but also to minimize brain damage from lack of blood and oxygen supply. Automatic external defibrillators (AEDs) are commonly available in public places to allow almost anybody to treat sudden death. Less commonly, the heart can just stop beating. The absence of a heart beat is known as asystole (asystole: a=no + systole=beat).

The vast majority of people whose heart stops beating unexpectedly have ventricular fibrillation. The definitive treatment for this is defibrillation using electricity to shock the heart back into a regular rhythm. With technological advances, AEDs are now a routine sight wherever people congregate.

I love how slow heartbeats are in the OP verse :josad:

If that applied in real life folks would have many problems

But I guess that's just normal, Oda ain't rational so a stoppage is just as bad.

Nah Luffy would just stay unconscious if he failed to awaken his fruit

and do you even know how long 10 minutes in One Piece? It's the same duration when Luffy lost his haki against Doflamingo and in chapter 1043 it's not even 10 minutes.

So if a person's heart stops beating for a couple of minutes they're declared dead? Any medical practitioners who successfully administered CPR to the patient would say otherwise.

But his heart stopped beating, without Nika Luffy is gone..

Well CPR is a revival technique after all..
What about the instances where CPR didn't work was the patient dead before or after they tried reanimating them?..

Are you fucking stupid? You can’t pronounce a person dead unless all bodily functions stops

CPR is a resuscitation you just assist a person’s heart or lungs to function properly to keep him/her alive. The fuck are you talking about reanimating?

Kaido also thought that Kinemon is dead, you really can’t trust any characters opinions especially if the very next chapter it shows the fact that Luffy was still alive:risitameh:
