Just chill and let chill
I just wanna know why the ending’s so bad
Tbh, the whole Part 2 is nowhere near as good as Part 1
- Nayuta doesn't live up neither to Makima nor to Power (who she seemingly replaces)
- Asa is kinda lame
- Yoru isn't that much better
- Denji gets blueballed the whole time, as usual, and gets character regression instead of character progression
- the only interesting character Fami has not nearly enough panel time
- there's a ton of characters who are so pathetic that I can't even bother to remember their names, and the art is so sloppy at times that I barely can distinguish between them
- then we get the abrupt ending like "Denji you're the happiest when your life is shit, no, you're not getting laid after the whole season of bait, and Pochita eats itself so that CSM never existed"

Say what you will about the rest of part 2 but I do think the ending conceptually makes sense. In execution it came out of nowhere and definitely needed more time in the oven, but the idea of it seems just fine, imo.

The whole point is that ignorance is bliss. Denji was obviously still happy when he got to go on dates with Asa and had Nayuta in his life, for example, but all those things just caused him to worry more. Nayuta, just like Power and Aki, eventually got killed off and Asa was a little fucked over by the fact that an evil devil controlled half of her brain and wouldn't stop until she killed the devil that Denji is merged with. All that objectively put far more stress on Denji than if he had just lived by himself with Pochita in a little shack like before.
Not to mention, Pochita might believe that him being in Denji's life only caused Denji more pain. After all, most of the bad things that happened to Denji were due to Pochita merging with him (like Yoru constantly trying to kill them). With Pochita erased, even if it's just temporary and chainsaws are reinvented like nukes, he at least gets to live a truly "normal" life for once and for all.

It's a weird setup for the ending, and you don't have to like it, but I think it'd have been fine if Fujimoto only did more to prepare for this type of ending. It came too soon.

to be honest, it kind of works as an ending.

but it's too soon, and Denji's blue-balling is getting out of hand, I'm on the verge of writing a freaking smut fanfic where Denji finally gets some, really, just how much do you hate your own character, Fujimoto?

so yeah, I understand where it's coming from, but it's not like the devils disappear for good from the world (unless they do for whatever reason), and if even Denji forgets Pochita, then what was the point for the whole Denji's story?

Hmmm
Let's wait until the next chapter to make our final verdicts on this ending. He can still save this ending

A nutritious summary.
