People have done worse and changed for the better. Especially when such strong emotions like jealousy are involved, sometimes rash decisions are made. Someone could have taken advantage of Gloriosa's jealousy and convinced her they will take Shakky away but not hurt her etc. Gloriosa could have had a moment where she made up for it in God Valley as the guilt was eating away at her. Something where she is willing to sacrifice herself for Shakky. This would have been great writing. A lot of these characters simply don't feel real atm feels like I'm really reading a cartoon meant for 12 year olds.

I had zero expectations it was Gloriosa cause Oda isn't capable of this writing. Should it have been Gloriosa? Absolutely, was it going to be Gloriosa, nah. Didn't think for a second it was her because this is mickey mouse piece. Oda is incapable of writing real characters atm, you're either cartoonishly good or cartoonishly evil, even Xebec is turning out to be more of a saint than anything. Very few actual faults portrayed with consequences, Gloriosa was right there tailor made for diving into real human emotions. Instead she's just a caricature at best. She doesn't feel like a real character, more of a gag.

Ooooh, the lore keeps coming. As far as I know, the Cipher Pol Intelligence Bureau is an entirely new location. Cipher Pol 9 protects Enies Lobby, but we've never seen Cipher Pol's actual headquarters. Oda really likes teasing locations like this before we go to them, like when Egghead was refernced during the Amazon Lily attack regarding Vegapunk and the Seraphim.
Good chance we go the Intelligence Bureau, meet Cipher Pol's leadership, and see Lucci get yelled at for fighting Luffy when he shouldn't have, sometime soon. Lucci and Kaku messed up bad in Egghead, and it's a horrible look for CP0 Agents to actually have a mole in them.
Cipher Pol's going to be in total chaos because of Stussy, they're probably looking for moles everywhere.
This chapter confirms for me that Morgans can talk to his News Coos and uses them to spy on people, look at those dudes posted up by him.

Interesting comment from Newgate here: the Human Hunts are known about as rumors, but they're so disgusting/insane even the Rocks Pirates thought the rumors were baseless, when the Rocks Pirates owned this era/were researching the Ancient History. Looks like there have been past survivors in Human Hunts, or at least Marine defectors, based on the fact that the rumors exist, but, if there were, due to the baselessness of the rumors, it probably would only be a few survivors.
These two pages confirm to me that the Celestial Dragons had no idea about the Davy Clan being on God Valley: Garling found something unrelated to the Davy Clan on God Valley. Really thinking it's Uranus
Finally, Sommers is clearly an adult in this scenario; it's possible Garling is actually his rival. This also explains Shamrock being surprised when Sommers was with Gunko/Killingham: Shamrock and Sommers don't get along because Garling and Sommers don't get along, Shamrock thought it was just going to be Killingham.
I thought it was possible Sommers was younger on God Valley, and thought he watched his parents die. While still possible, it's looking more like Sommers watched his child die on God Valley; this fits the themes of God Valley, fatherhood/parenthood, very well.
Dragon looks banged up, here: I think he's already fought with other Marines, and has defected when we see him meet S-Mom. Gonna be a tough panel when we see Shank's and Shamrock's Mom's face for the first time while she's dying. Probably get a brief flashback of her and Garling; there was a brief time skip between their talk and him stabbing her, too. I think we'll see more of Garling talking to S-Mom before the stab.
By far the most interesting thing to me about this chapter though: the Davy Clan successfully hid on God Valley for 800 years.
This explains why Rocks/Teach know so much (I think Teach has Rocks' Logbook): God Valley has Void Century information (and possibly Uranus).
The official reason the Marines/WG will share with their members for God Valley's destruction is simple: "They were hiding a Clan from the Void Century, who were studying the Ancient History that threatens world peace."
I'd be shocked if God Valley wasn't protecting at least one Poneglyph if the island was protecting the Davy Clan for 800 years: the WG/Garling found the Poneglyph, and God Valley was doomed.
If God Valley possessed Uranus, it's a "Oh no, God Valley had Weapons of Mass Destruction" scenario with an Ancient Weapon.
This would explain why the Marine Officials here are willing to genocide God Valley: it's the same as Akainu in Ohara, but, potentially with an Ancient Weapon. If the WG knew God Valley had an Ancient Weapon, only their top-tier officers would know about this, Dragon's commanding officer probably has no idea.
If Uranus is buried on God Valley, then this is my theory: the valley in the mountain was forged by a Sword Slice cutting down a "God", ie, the Ancient Weapon, Uranus, that the World Government stole from the Ancient Kingdom.
The God of the Sky, Uranus, was "cut down and fell down", making the valley we see today.
If I had to guess who took down Uranus... Ryuma is the first thought that comes to mind, since I believe he's from the Void Century.

Can’t believe that Oda still made the ugly ass mofo the backstabbing rat in the end. Wish it was Silver Axe instead, at least that’d make him more interesting. Now he’s basically irrelevant for the rest of the story.

No I think Oda did an ok job avoiding this, the real reason Xebec is there is because his family is there. This far outweighs Shakky, Shakky is just what he's using as a front to get the crew involved (along with the DF prizes for others). Xebec is ready to die on God Valley to secure safety for his kin, Shakky is not even close to his top priority.
Yea but with this logic, isn't gooning attached to his downfall? If we ignore Xebec's primary motive, all this is, is a chase for Shakky who is this irresistible babe. I don't see how adding some real believable writing to it would make it worse.
On another note, man it’s sad that Xebec opened up to Harald, thinking this key detail might make Harald reconsider. Instead, Harald refused to let emotions interfere with his goal, you could see in that panel he didn’t even believe the words coming out of his own mouth, when he tells Xebec he will strike him down. For Xebec, that’s the ultimate betrayal. It really shows how significant this secret was, since no one else knew it, yet he was sharing it with someone who is now opposing him in hopes that this would make a difference.

Since Haki is the biggest thing in the series, I think it's tied to Haki: Imu didn't use Domi Reversi on Brogy right away. Instead, Imu blew off Brogy's hand.
Why?
Because, Haki is Willpower, and when Brogy was furious with Imu, Brogy could resist. After Brogy's hand was blown off, and the rest of the Giants saw him turn into a murderous demon? Bam, everyone gets Domi Reversi'd.
I figured Rocks couldn't get Domi Reversi'd here, because of his gigantic CoC Haki.
But, if Rocks found his dead wife... and saw the person (I think it's Garling) who killed her... Rocks very well could have been Domi Reversi'd. If Domi Reversi works on people who have lost their Will, Rocks seeing his dead wife and wanting to destroy the person who killed her is a very legit reason he could be Domi Reversi'd.
Either Davy Jones or Imu possessed Rocks after his wife died.
This fits well thematically with Harald: like Rocks, Harald was killed after Imu Domi Reversi'd them. Elbaph hates Ida, but loves Harald: if Ida died, not many people would honor her death, sadly, the way they do Harald.
I think Harald and Rocks both got Domi Reversi'd for the same reason: they watched their wife die. I'd imagine Harald keeps a Den Den Mushi on tap to contact Ida. This is what I think went down:
-The WG believes (correctly) that Harald jobbed to Rocks. We saw Sommers talking about how everything was Harald's fault. I think Sommers' child died on God Valley: Harald was supposed to kill Rocks, and, if he did, God Valley doesn't become what it did. I believe "God Valley" refers to Uranus, and also the Celestial Dragons who died there, including the un-named Gorosei. Sommers is PISSED here: I 100% believe he lost a child on God Valley, and that's why he sadistically uses his Fruit to trick kids into murdering their parents. To make children suffer in the name of his dead child. Rocks warned Harald the WG just wanted to use them as military slaves, and Sommers just admits that here.
-Shamrock is said to have known Harald, and Sommers meant Shamrock visiting Harald's grave. I believe Harald convinced Shamrock that other races can also be strong/noble. Garling brought Shamrock to Elbaph at some point, when negotiating with Harald after God Valley (Harald still wanted to join the WG, but change it from within, like the Marines do). I believe the Abyss can travel where you've been before, like Kuma's Fruit: Shamrock could travel to Elbaph's Throne Room, because he visited King Harald alongside Garling. This also means Garling can probably teleport there, and could show up soon. Also likely Shamrock, Shanks, and Garling all hung out at the Reverie Shanks mentions meeting Harald at.
-Garling/Sommers come to despise Harald for pretending to want to join the WG, then betraying them by helping Rocks. I also believe Harald went to God Valley (possibly with Loki sneaking aboard) to save the people of God Valley/Slaves. Garling and Sommers plot to take down Harald with Imu.
-Sommers murders Ida (likes killing parents), and Harald is made to listen to her final moments. Destroyed by grief, Harald, like Rocks, and the Giant Warrior Pirates, gets Domi Reversi'd by Imu
-Jarul holds Harald down while Loki stabs Harald, because he's too strong to be put down normally.
-Harald shrinks down back to normal as he dies, and Jarul gets memory loss from Loki impaling the sword into his head when he stabbed Harald. Harald shrinking knocks the sword out of him.
-Shanks and Gyaban come in to see Harald dead with Loki covered in blood surrounded by the rest of the dead Giants

You’ve got a point lmfaoo. For me, it just feels like it dumbs things down even more with that soap opera angle. The problem really boils down to Roger imo. Oda could’ve given Roger a secondary motive for hating Rocks, but he just dropped it. For like the first 20 years of his career, Roger barely had any concrete goals lol.
I agree, Harald and Xebec’s dynamic has been great. You can really see how torn Harald is. In the end, he realized they actually share a lot of the same values. I’m curious how Xebec’s death will hit him.
