General & Others Could ZKK help save tension in future arcs

#22
the only way Oda can save the tension of future arcs is by having Kaido lose in a team fight

also Oda need to move away from making the strength of his villains be about " they have a strong punch and good endurance" , that's boring abd the reader won't feel any tension because in his mind Luffy can somehow just develope a stronger punch and defeat him and that's it

an antagonist always need to have a unique ability or trait that seems impossible to bypass , thats what will make the reader keep guessing and actually consider the villain a threat

No ZKK will not save this arc, but it could make it even worse
Wano arc has to many problems and i don't think that even ending can save this arc from being mediocre
Oda just need to finish this arc quickly and move on to post Wano arc or whatever is next

i'm not against ZKK but i dont really think Oda is dare enough to kill such a big character like Kaido in the first place he dont even dare to kill Pond, Mr. 2 and Pell when they supposed to die protecting something they consider precious..

but if he dies... all i see is he will die memorably, maybe he would accept that Luffy is a Joyboy, and he's not. Then try protecting Wano from WG as farewell gifts, since i dont see the possible route for WG/CP0 to leave Wano alone after this. its cringe indeed, but thats what i feel :josad:

So while I did have some doubts after 1035, I'm much more accepting of ZKK than I have been in the past. One of the biggest issues I have had with this theory was the issue of ZKK overshadowing Luffy's win.

But the question I want to pose is, does Luffy really deserve a clean win against kaido? Now its no doubt that wano is supposed to mark Luffy's ascent into the top tiers. However, kaido is something different. Kaido is the world's strongest creature and if Luffy were to truly surpass kaido this arc, it would greatly diminish the tension of future arcs.
In order for Akainu and blackbeard to be good villains, Oda will have to introduce a massive power creep. And lets not forget Luffy's mentor figures, Shanks and Dragon. What impact will they have if Luffy has already surpassed them by the time they meet?

In my opinion, its simply early for Luffy to surpass kaido. Obviously Luffy should win, to prove he will be the next pirate king and the next joyboy, but I think ZKK downplaying Luffy's win could actually be a good thing.

Now the admirals will still be a threat and Luffy might need to fight hard to defeat akainu.
The train of thought regarding the reduced tension for future arcs can always be handled with having BB also surpass both Luffy and Kaidou in overall strength, be it by DF hax or some weird CoC or other powers. Also theres always Imu who is in my opinion just guaranteed to be the most powerful existence ever.

On the other side, if Luffy doesnt surpass Kaidou, it means he actually loses the battle for PK, and being unworthy to attain that title. Imo this is the worst, it denies the entire concept of strength aspect of PK, while in shonen's concept we recognize that ultimate powerlevel is practically the ultimate result we want to have for the MC. If Oda betray this and dilute Luffy's ultimate achievement, surpassing the WSC, by also giving the similar even maybe overshadowing level of powerlevel accomplishment to someone else, its gonna be a betrayal to the very concept of shonen itself, which i'm strongly believe will never happen.

So its reduced tension factor which can be tweaked by powerlevel progression of villains, versus being unworthy in the decisive battle for PK. Well i know exactly which one i'm disagreeing with the most.

In what way it is clean when Kaidou has been gangbanged by 17 people continuously? And moreover Luffy matching Kaidou in power doesn't mean anything when his stamina and endurance is fodder tier. On contrary, it is Kid and Law who is facing Bigmom (near equal to Kaidou) who hasn't even injured or even wounded on the rooftop. If anything, Kid and Law going to leap more than Luffy as Kaidou is already exhausted.

The issue here is that you are wanking Kaido too much and that's causing conflict to your ideas. No need for power creep. Multiple opponents will suppose a bigger challenge than Kaido. Kaido is not above everyone unfortunately.

No. Cause then why doesn’t every arc end with Zoro after this.

This is Luffys story and always will be. Luffy needs to beat Kaido for himself and for his dream. A victory where someone else finishes the enemy is not one he deserves.

Before Kaido and Luffys current one v one began we were told that Kaido was weakened. Kaidos not as strong currently as he normally is.
Luffy is more nerfed than Kaido, "barely standing" according to Yamato.
Kaido was just starting to show signs of damage, that Yamato could only tell from his passive ability weakening SLIGHTLY, Yamato directly could see Luffy was barely standing and nerfed from his previous knockouts that happened when he was weaker than he currently is and wouldn't have happened if Luffy knew what he knows now.

Please. Luffy recovered his stamina. Read manga. Kaidou was in more bad situation than Luffy. Accept it Luffy endurance and stamina regressed/retconed heavily in wano.
Luffy went from being UNABLE TO MOVE due to fatigue to being able to fight a Yonko for a short period of time.
Luffy doesn't have a magical zoan fruit like Kaido to help him out. (even Page One and Yamato were hyped solely for their vastly inferior fruits)

The context of Yamato referencing Kaido's fatigue was his passive ability starting to weaken slightly, not saying that he was worse off than Luffy.
She explicitly said Luffy was barely standing and hyping how noble it was for Luffy to be taking Wano on his back like that.
