To be fair, there were theories regarding Luffy being Sun God and Nika before jinbei vs who's who.


People did speculate it because they had evidences.


What was not expected was luffy df will be modelled to Mythical zoan fruit to make him nika. There was no foreshadowing regarding this.

yeah the nika part was fairly foreshadowed

however it being something totally different from luffy's rubber powers doesn't make sense and nor does gear 5 or his fruit changing into a different type for no given reason
