General & Others Did Shanks defeat Kaido

Given that 4/5 of Kaido's Top 5 defeated him, and Shanks is the "outlier", who's to say that he and Kaido merely clashed instead of Shanks temporarily "defeating" him?

I really doubt a Simple CoC clash would have been enough for Shanks to join that list, there must have been something more to it. And given how we barely know anything about their clash, anything could have happened

If Oda really wants to wank Shanks, and it is entirely possible if not the most likely outcome, they had a very short clash (a couple of moves) which ended like the Shanks vs Kizaru clash in film Red aka Shanks sword on Kizaru throat. Same but with Kaido. What is a bit weird is Kaido simply admitting superiority and leaving but this was weird for Kidd as well. Remember that Shanks come to Marineford uninjured.

Or simply Shanks gave Kaido the Kidd treatment but that means Shanks is in another league even compared to Kaido and that is too much (at least if now Oda doesn't start to spike up the power lvls like crazy)(Shanks oneshotting Kidd could be the first signal but I don't see other candidates for something like that bar EoS BB or possibly Imu if he is a fighter).

He was Shocked at how much Luffy Improved in only few Days

This means that those Five showed Similar Monstrous Improvement which made him at one point question if they are "Strongest"

1. He Clashed with Oden 25 Years Ago & then faced him again 5 Years Later & almost Died
2. He was in same Crew with Xebec & WB so He saw their Growth Rate
3. He saw Roger's Power during God's Valley & then learned that He became Pirate King

This indicates that Kaidou also saw Massive Potential in Shanks
So they didn't necessarily Fight, Kaidou simply saw something that made him realize that Shanks is Same Level as those other Four

Shanks pulling up in MF after WB dead and after the war almost reaching to it's conclusion is nothing to do with Kaido because the latter isn't interested in that.

This feels like a weird misinterpretation. Kaido is thinking to himself "what happened to you after a i faced you in kuri" in regards to luffys growth. I agree with you there, but then "there are only a few capable of facing me, how high will your ceiling go" and above luffy we see the faces of five men as if to visualize that they represent the "ceiling" or in plain terms, the select few who can face him.

Those men arent being noted by kaido for their growth. He's noting them for their entry into the small club of people capable of fighting him.
