Questions & Mysteries Did Whitebeard and Kaido depart on friendly terms ?

#1
Its clear in God Valley that they were on good terms as crewmates. No bad blood was shown between those 2.

Could it be that real reason Whitebeard never wanted to revenge Oden was because he was still on good terms with Kaido so he tried to avoid it ?

Also how legit is information that Kaido wanted to go to marineford to kill WB ? Could it be something else entirely ?

We are talking about 30 years down the line.
If they were on good terms with each other, new world wouldn't have divided between 4 yonkou.

On top of that Bigmom was looking forward to Beating Whitebeard after her arrangement with giants.

Yes it is.
Kaidou wanted to be part of a greatest war.

Kaidou introduction he literally says, whitebeard managed to die a glorious death there.

I don't think so. WB didn't necessarily held a grudge, but I'm pretty sure Kaido already showed some pretty glaring character flaws during their years in Rocks (this flashback is running fast, but you need to keep in mind that they've been together for at least 6 years, that's long enough to know each other). In addition, Sengoku said on chapter #957 that they hated each other and that's why Rocks is pretty much forgotten, so there's no good terms with them.

If it turns out Whitebeard didn't want to kill lil bro Kaido to avenge his other brother Oden... I'd be slightly better with his character. Still a massively overblown idiot and overhyped by the fandom, sure. But I can get that justification.

Of course not. None of the Rocks pirates were on good terms, and certainly not those two. They're loyal to Xebec for different reasons, WB feels like he owes him for paying his tab(essentially his family shit) and Kaido is loyal because he sees Xebec as being strong and a dominating figure.

Kaido was also never really said to be going to *Marineford* proper, he was going to attack Whitebeard himself. He most likely wanted to beat and kill Whitebeard.

Yes and no, they were all more neutral to friendly with each other, kind of like the Worst Generation in today’s era. Along the line, Kaido did give Whitebeard a reason to hate him though, since killing Oden was clearly crossing the line. Even then, Whitebeard might have mixed feelings about it since he understands how brutal and messy the pirate world can get.

Kaido on the other hand has no real reason to hate Whitebeard. I’d bet he sees him the same way he sees Linlin, more of a rival he pretends to want to kill rather than someone he genuinely despises. If anything, Kaido has shown more affection for Linlin rather than his own crew members lol. He values strength above all else, and fondly looks back at his time with these legends. He also still has that dream of taking over the “world”.

The problem is that we thought that "Rock pirate hating each other" and "Kaido want to kill WB during Marineford" was because its coming from Sengoku mouth/WG, and look how creditable their are
