Character Discussion Did Whitebeard really intend to make Ace the Pirate King ?

#21
Something that Sengoku, as well as Squardo after having been deceived by Akainu, have done about Whitebeard is that he intended to make Ace the Pirate King and that it was the reason why he was so attached to Ace.

But how much of this is true ? Do you think that Whitebeard really planned to make Ace the Pirate King, or was it something that he hoped to see happening though without forcing Ace's choice to do it, or did he wish for something else for Ace ? What are your thoughts and ideas ?
He did, bro. Ace had a lot of hype behind him. The WG decided to execute him for this very reason. They were afraid of his potential.

I think that he intended to make Ace his successor, not sure about the PK goal. However, I'm sure that he knew that Ace had the potential, since he was Roger's son... so, basically he would be able to take care of WB's family (the WB Pirates) after his passing, whether Ace would like to go after the One Piece or not.

Whitebeard was not the brightest bulb. Just some guy with powerful physique, an op devil fruit and birth date in a time with few enough competitors to get old enough and learn all the hacks.

Luffy doesn't want to but actually he is saving cities and nations since his fight with Buggy, then Arlong and the hometown of Nami, Alabasta, Skypea, Wano and many others. What Oda makes Luffy say and what actually Luffy does in the end are 2 different things even if we get he is a hero even if he doesn't want to.
Yeah, thats what I said, he doesn't wants too, but when his friends are involved, he helps.
