Controversial Do some people pretend to be "woke" in their One Piece criticism, just for agenda?

#1
Some people like to criticize Oda for his sexism, for the fanservice, and the writing of the character of Sanji, saying he liked Pudding who's a minor (for real world laws),etc.

But,at the same time, these same people, often criticize Usopp calling him a "bum" because he is a character who doesnt adhere to the "toxic masculinity" idea of what a male character should be,and often praise characters like Zoro only for physical strenght and not for other qualities.

Is this hypocritical? Do some people act woke, just for their agendas?

Break week brainrot bait threads hit the bottom, and began digging deeper.
Please be civil. This is an important thread.

Pudding is legal here so idc, really.
Never trust people who can not appreciate a fine pair of tits. Male or female, makes no difference.
Usopp gets strong dislike because hes a huge pussy for no real reason. That would not be appealing on females either. Even if its more tolerable. Nami is a cowards, yet she is nowhere near as bad as Usopp.

I just think fanservice is fucking funny.
Japanese are weird as hell sometimes and its hilarious. I do not feel like there is any ill intention. Its is what it is and I do not want it to change.

What exactly is woke? I've heard the term thrown around but what exactly does it entail?
It can be used to just indicate civili behavior (respecting minorities) but also to indicate the people who find sexism or other "ism" in everything, creating controversies or canceling famous people. So the term can be used both in a good sense or negative sense

I think Usopp is not really a coward because even if he is afraid in the end he always does the right thing and fights,so thats actually bravery. But i still think he should do something big in Elbaph and so far i am disappointed by his absence from every storyline in the arc. Hope this changes soon.

Not going to lie, those just flat out sound like two different groups of people.
Ethics aside, she is legal where I'm from as well.
Same in Scotland. 16 is flat out age of adulthood there.

Basically extreme progressivism.

Remember how before people would try to censor media or people because of religious reasons or "won't someone please think of the children?!".

It's like that but in this case the moral busybody is using popular causes like activism and minority rights as an excuse.

A lot of these types claim to be anti-bullying, discrimination etc but are often prone to both. Sometimes they're well meaning but misguided, often they're just hypocrites, conmen or lack self awareness.

Donglegate, the Justine Sacco incident, the top posts on this sub, hamfisted writing like this, a lot of of Tumblr and Reddit's users are some examples of it.

On-topic: OP has a big fandom. Some critics are probably hypocrites, others may hold consistent opinions.

If you are asking whether people are feigning moral uprightness to enforce their point, then yeah, that may also be possible.

Depends on your age (say, a 19 year old with a 16 year old vs a 40 year old with a 16 year old). The later is understandably still frowned upon.

I'll say, though, that some 16 yo girls look like children but some others you wouldn't know they aren't 18 or 19 without a look at their identity cards, just like some girls over 18 are still asked to show theirs to buy alcohol and such.
