Too much kidd slander in a week where he gets a win
This forum loves new targets to bully for ages too. Unfortunately Kidd is their new target as he's getting more focus now.
It's pathetic how they're behaving but bullies love excuses as well as easy targets to pick on.
There are great things about Kidd that get overshadowed, more nuanced things but people seem to love to ignore it or don't even notice or care about them.
Funny how they call him mid or boring when most of the forum are Zoro worshippers. Zoro is badass and awesome but he's also dull as a character too.
He has his moments of being interesting and great but ironically they are subtle too.
Ive seen some refer to Kidd as the Sanji of the SNs and they are just proving my point then.
Also the ones slandering him better not be the ones who stan Bakugo in MHA too.
Kidd has always been the unfairly matched underdog, he got betrayed and had an actual Yonko literally drop in on him and fuck him over big time naturally.
Luffy is the MC and will always have infinite plot armour and thus luck/convenience/support/allies etc to protect his actual dumb ass too.
He has accomplished a LOT with just himself, an amazing VC and sheer resilience against the odds no matter how blatantly unfair and outmatched they are.
Hes genuinely inspiring and his absolute BFF/ride or die/bros for life relationship with Killer, as his reaction to Killers Smile reveal in Udon and Killer and Kidds trust, respect and knowledge of each other paid off vs Hawks and WILL pay off Big Mom. Oda already made that clear to us.
But you know, this forum loves to kick people when they're down, easier to pick on a "loser" then call out for privileged ones just like IRL with many things.
Killer and Kidd are like Luffy and Zoro and that should be appreciated and respected by fans of the latter in general, that just makes it sad that a lot of them don't.
Kidd is also indeed the "Bakugo" of OP, way before Bakugo even "existed" and also the Vegeta too. And you know what the funny thing is? People used to slander Vegeta a lot when I was growing up and following DBZ and GT, even seen some by DBS fans too but I also see a LOT of admiration, respect, praise and such for him now too.
Bakugo had a lot of fans but also haters too but after his amazing character development gradually over time and especially not long ago, where he really opened up and showed humility, self awareness, vulnerability and detached his ego for a change, it made him much better than he already was.
I went from hating him to becoming a legitimate fan of his now, if thar isn't good writing, I don't know what is!
I think Oda is purposely trying to humble Kidd or and just test his will too, he's aiming for Pirate King too, so he has to struggle, he has to suffer as a test of his worthiness and thus earn the title of PK.
That's the great thing about being the PK too, you have to earn it, you can't just be born into royalty and thus kingship or whatever, Pirate Kings aren't just born, they are MADE or FORGED in the hellish seas, storms/weather, fires etc of the OP world, especially the New World.
The World is cruel, unforgiving and unfair and only the strongest, the best will come out on top but its not just about power or strength too, Oda has tried to express thar with many characters now, Shiki, The Warlords, Supernovas, Yonko especially. Strength also comes in many forms especially willpower at the core or root but also ingenuity, creativity, resourcefulness, charisma, empathy etc and that is also what Oda is trying to showcase with Luffy too, who is amazingly creative and adaptive with his DF, especially such an underwhelming and greatly underestimated one.
Even though I'm a massive Kidd fan, I know this is Luffys story and he's destined to be PK but it doesn't mean Kidd and his journey and character aren't interesting. Sometimes the runner ups and "losers" are far more endearing and interesting especially with the humility and struggle from failure.
I see far more interesting people rise up and succeeding from losing on, coming runner up or quitting talent/reality shows and competitions then the winners usually.
The winners have already won, they triumphed over everyone else, they're the top dog now, where they can go from there? Stagnate or decline? The 15 mins of fame and then the descent to rock bottom and or obscurity?
The winners have already been fed and thus satiated. Unless they're defending their title like in sports like wrestling or boxing which is a brilliant concept imo, they don't have the same hunger now unless they're addicted to keep succeeding and winning more. The ones who fail to be the best can either give up, go into a slump or still be hungry and try again, even if it's a different path they take and goal they aim for.
And I find a lot of them come with a new reinvigorated flame to succeed, when they came so close before and even finding their own success in their own ways, on their in terms, in unexpected ways too.
And that's what I hope will happen for Kidd. I'm not too hopeful as it's a Shonen and Oda still likes to follow the clichés of them but I'd love him for him to get his own unique impressive, major successes even if its not pirate King. Hell if be extremely ecstatic if he became a a Yonko and whether people like it or not, I do feel is Luffys Shiki and maybe Whitebeard too but only somewhat ofc.
Anyway I really hope Kidd will get the same kind of much better treatment and understanding in future, however long it takes. Underdogs are the best, the most interesting, developed, endearing, relatable characters. Life is all about struggle so watching someone struggle and actually sacred is empowering and heartwarming, especially when they don't have the same plot armour as the MC and his VC too.
I know I typed up a GIGANTIC rant here but I'm sick of all this playground behaviour, the mob mentality bullying of Kidd like they do with certain other characters.
I'm pretty sure this will get ignored by a lot of people or go over their heads if they read it, but fuck man, it's much eeasier and safer to cheer for the winners and more successful/luckier/privileged and yet they ironically keep calling Kidd a cheerleader?
Anyway I've said my peace so screw the haters, we're not as shallow and petty as you are.
