One Piece definitely doesn't have the appeal of 10 years ago and the long discussions
You can check the spoiler threads for the Wano arc and the number of discussions on this forum
The number of messages and active people was very high
Actually the Egghead and Kizaru ruined the story. Oda had no plans for Kizaru and the Five Elder
Let's be honest, Oda had no plans after Wano:kayneshrug:

Yeah, that's why we got more reveals and stuff happening after wano than in 5 years of that shitty arc?
Clearly shows that he had no plans

Wano and Egghead were huge let down for my liking .

Especially because Dressrossa and Whole cake arc are my 2 favorite arcs .

Pre time skip is generally better .

So far Elbaf looks promising and did not dissapoint.

Post-TS already had its fair share of problems but I still enjoyed it until Wano, that was not a good arc and it was total slog to get through. I'm in a "let's get this over with" mood for One Piece with the Straw Hats story being the least interesting part of the final saga.

When looking at how this story has played out, you can’t ignore its length. The Post-TS has been around for almost 15 years now, and both in terms of quantity—but especially quality—it’s offered very little compared to the Pre-TS.

I think the guarantee Oda had that his work could keep going no matter what he did ended up hurting more than helping. I’m not trying to suggest what he could have changed or done better, but it’s clear we’ve spent several years in a single saga—the Yonkou—and most of the big mysteries are still pretty much untouched. By this point in the saga, there should’ve at least been a direct connection to the series’ grand final plan. Some questions should’ve already been answered, and maybe a lot of characters or plotlines shouldn’t have even been added.

Before the timeskip, since the worldbuilding wasn’t on a global scale yet, the sagas could be “island-centric,” meaning most of their worldbuilding and storylines were tied to the specific place of each arc. But now, with the manga passing the 20-year mark and the saga’s rival being a Yonkou, I think it was a mistake for Wano to still be “island-centric” instead of “global-centric,” connecting and setting up future links.

I agree with first part and disagree with the latter.

Egghead is not that better than WCI for example. Wano is simply worst arc in history. Elbaf is also not good.
Egghead was sullied by vegaskunk and became horribly bad once all gorosei got involved. Also kuma’s backstory sank dragon stocks making him look like an uncaring jackass to his subordinates

Best parts of Egghead were the non-egghead parts aka garp vs kuzan shanks vs kidd bb vs law

Elbalf has been good so far. Massive lore drops new character revelations good pacing. All characters are compelling and theres nobody thats really unlikable either unlike vegaskunk

If you mean Gaban and Harald's backstory I agree. But what's currently going on and the set up to me it was horrible. Loki is also good.

It’s very disingenuous to say you enjoyed post timeskip until Wano. Post Timeskip IS LITERALLY BORINNNNNNGGGGG UNTIL The End of Dressrosa , WCI and Wano is where One Piece Discussion Peaked. But yall don’t wanna talk about that. Plot was engaging , sure it had its issues but the plot was still engaging…….. The Strawhats collectively don’t really do shit until Wano tbh.

I thought it was going to be different to all the other Shonens, but it went the same way as Naruto, Dragon Ball etc. I don’t think there’s a single mangaka who’s made a satisfying ending to a story. They have great world building but closing it out is always an issue and I think it’s largely due to the fact that it occurs over years and as such they are more prone to influences from other factors and most importantly story bloat.

Egghead had the quality of one of those movies where Oda just rubbed his D all over the production. Dude pulls out everything he knows but after 25 years it just doesn't work like he wants.

Fist, Ranma, Kenshin, and if I think about it maybe others ended as strongly as they ever were. JoJo and Ippo types probably don't end because the guys dunno how to end them

I've never seen this group of people ever actually be happy with any story... Ever.

Let's be honest, these guys are overcompensating for something with their takes.
