How can you claim that BB isnt luffys rival due to strength and is instead Shanks' when BB ran from Shanks during MF?
Not to mention they dont even have the same goal

Eustace Monk (the other pirate which inspired Kidd's name) studied "black magic" lol, is Kidd some kind of magician and I missed it?

Kidd is just another Law rolewise. He will be a yonko of the next gen for sure but the rival of Luffy for the PK title is only BB. There are also pretty good chances that by the end of the fight he will become a cheerleader of Luffy like Law in Dressrosa (or Vegeta for Goku in any relevant fight, that is how it works, and Vegeta has even way greater status in Dragonball compared to Kidd for OP).

And yet he planned to die in Dressrosa
Seems to me like his goal was taking revenge on Doffy at the cost of his life. Now thanks to Luffy he was able to get his revenge and keep his life, and his new goal is finding out the meaning of D. So much for the PK goal he had. He just said that to reassure his crew. If his goal was truly to find the One Piece then he wouldn’t have been planning on dying in Dressrosa.

- Luffy and Kidd are the only Supernova captains with a Supernova vice captain
- Luffy and Kidd are the only Supernova who have expressed the dream of being PK
- They are the only Supernova who have faced multiple Yonko
- Luffy looks up to Shanks, Kidd hates Shanks
- Shanks specifically taught Luffy to ignore people who laugh at him, Kidd specifically notes that he kills people who laugh at him.
- When the Supernova were introduced Oda coincidentally made specifically only Luffy and Kidd have a bounty in the 300 millions
- Luffy has black hair and wears a red shirt, Kidd has red hair and wears a black shirt.
And there are even more. But sure all these parallels are DEFINITELY coincidental and are just “Kidd fans headcanon” lol. “The rock scene is their only parallel.” Sure buddy.

Does Luffy need to come out and literally say, “Kidd you are my rival”. Is the way he acts towards Kidd not enough for you to tell that he feels competitive towards Kidd like rivals in literally every shonen do? You said the Udon rock scene was the only parallel Luffy and Kidd had and yet I just posted like ten solid and intentional parallels. If you don’t like a character fine, but don’t be delusional. Oda is very clearly telling the readers Kidd is the main rival figure of the Supernova in Luffys generation.
